I have used the Cosy Club for many years, when visiting Bath. In the morning I make the Cosy Club my first stop for Breakfast.
If arriving by Park & Ride Bus that stops at the bottom of town, it's a very short walk to the Cosy Club.
Whilst all previous visits have been 100% successful, my last visit had two issues - but they were resolved without question.
1. One in the party ordered Poached Eggs, without ANY sauce or dressing- on arrival they had a strong taste of vinegar, like a pickled egg. When questioned we were advised 'they always' poach eggs with vinegar in the water.
We understand that some cooks use 'a spot' of vinegar in the water, but on research - many of the National TV Chefs do not suggest adding any vinegar in the water.
It appears that on this occasion 'the Cook' was very heavy handed with vinegar. We were offered a replacement - but did not take it up.
2. Green Tea.
This is a favourite of mine, but it must be served as a Light Tea, and not strong. For a two cup pot a level teaspoon of tea leaves is ample for a perfect cup. On arrival my tea pot was thick with tea leaves. I removed as much as I could on a saucer, to find it was full and heaped wit tea leaves. The pot was now only half full with tea that was excessively strong and un-drinkable. It was replaced without question. (I will attempt to attach a photo of the tea leaves).
In true traditional fashion, the Cosy Club advised the above two items would not be charged.
On the day of this visit we returned later in the afternoon for tea, and it was served without any problems.
I must add the staff at this establishment are very polite, helpful and understanding.
I will continue to make the Cosy Club my Number 1 stop in Bath.
