Oldfields is a real gem. The car park and rooms are small but lovely old houses were not built wth the car in mind.
What sets this place apart is the customer service and the breakfast.
The breakfast is gorgeous as everyone says. They do a great Veggie breakfast as well. Great view from breakfast room a bonus (not that you need one)
When we arrived we were given a proper coffee in the drawing room and then basically they asked us what we wanted to know about Bath. The knowledge and attention to detail was excellent. Nothing was to much trouble.
The great customer service started when I telephoned the Oldfields. The lady patiently explained tariffs and different rooms and checked availability. Even the confirmation e-mail was well layed out and had very descriptive restaurant recommendations on it.
Oldfields is a real quality accommodation

“Fabulous hotel”

Lovely stay at Oldfields – we really enjoyed our two nights there. Welcome was very friendly, and the cup of tea after a long Friday night journey was gratefully received. Nice to have a run down of local eateries, and the offer of booking a taxi.

We were in Room 10 which was lovely – not huge, but cosy and well-equipped. Bathroom was so clean it looked like we were the first people to use it! Tried out the Jacuzzi bath which was great after a cold day on an airfield. The hotel is an easy 10 minute walk into town so we didn’t use taxis on either of the evenings we were there. The room was very quiet, and although the hotel is on quite a busy road, we didn’t hear a thing. Adjustable heating was a great idea, and the bed was warm, comfortable and huge!

Would thoroughly recommend Oldfields for anyone wanting somewhere to stay in Bath – in fact, we’re already planning to buy gift vouchers for both sets of parents!

I took my girlfriend to Oldfields for a one night stay in November. (Well, she was my girlfriend when we arrived but my fiancee by the time we left!).

There's not much to say about the place that hasn't already been said. I can't fault the place, we loved everything about it.

The staff are all very friendly and helpful and the cup of tea/coffee in the lounge when you arrive is a nice touch.

The building is very nice and clean and well heated. Our room (room 16) was superb with a great 4 poster bed and lovely jacuzzi bath. The room has all the trimmings you would expect including a large flat screen tv, a dvd player and a mini hi-fi.

Breakfast was very nice with a good choice (including continental breakfast in bed if you want).

The location is good although not right in the city and up a bit of a hill, however this isn't much of a problem as it is only a 10 minute walk into the centre of the city and a taxi into the centre is only £4-£5

All in all, a great hotel/b&b which we will certainly shall be returning to one day.

“Absolutely Superb”

We stayed at Oldfields for 3 nights as a mini-honeymoon and we couldn't have wished for a better hotel. The location is excellent with a very short (and pleasant) walk into town. Claire and Henry were just so helpful - their reccomendations for restaurants were brilliant, and they were really helpful with booking tables and cabs on our behalf. All the other staff were extremely nice as well. The room was beautiful, really comfortable with a superb shower! Oh, and the breakfast is fantastic!

All in all we could not have wished for a better place to stay, location and room were superb and only bettered by the absolutely fantastic and personal service we received from all the staff - we had a truly brilliant couple of days in Bath and a large part of that was due to staying at Oldfields. We really cannot reccomend it highly enough and we will definitely be going back.

We stayed in one of the two, four posters rooms (room 17). The room was well thought out to cater for all the small details that make a stay excellent as opposed to standard. Wide screen TV, DVD, tea/coffee, jacuzzi bath etc. The whole team are so welcoming and nothing is too much trouble if you want assistance in booking spas, restaurants etc. You arrive to a warm welcome and sit in the beautiful lounge, by the fire, to check in and ask any questions you may have regarding the area. Breakfast finishes rather early at 9.30am but this still worth the early rise as the English breakfast is delicious with high quality sausages, bacon and farm eggs.

The hotel has a DVD library, daily newspapers/magazines and free use of the lap top Internet access plus a hotel wide wireless access (although our room had a very weak signal). 10-12 minutes walk to town, down a steep hill. Taxi's plentiful in the town for the return up hill leg! A wonderful stay and we booked our friends in for a break before we left.
