We were quite comfortable here for a short stay on March 23. We had to leave too early to try the breakfast, so no comment there.

We had one of the smaller en suite double rooms, which, although not large by any means, was not tiny and cramped like other small B&B double rooms we had seen elsewhere in England.

The one downside was that the decor of the room was a little tacky. The wallpaper, curtains, and framed pictures combined to provide floral overload.

We stayed at the Aquae Sulis for 3 days in a triple room and were very happy with the stay. Comfortable calm stay and far away from the madding crowds of London. I thoroughly enjoyed the holiday with my mom and boyfriend. Jane was very nice and helpful and we had a good time in Bath. Would definitely go here again.

My wife and I stayed one night at Aquae Sulis in early October on our way from London to Wales. We arrived a little late (8 PM) and had some trouble rousing our host, but once we found her she was quite welcoming and helpful. I recall having a few anxious moments, but I think that was largely due to being frazzled from our first day of UK driving. We couldn't have asked for a more relaxing place to spend the night. I thought it was the most luxurious room we had in our 10-day holiday.
The room was very plush with a queen bed and a thick comforter, the towels were thick and soft, and they actually provided washcloths! The shower had some fancy, high-tech equipment like...like I've never seen. It worked very well--good water pressure.
They provided wireless Internet with the instructions typed up on a card in the room. It worked flawlessly. This was the only place of five we stayed at where I got the advertised wireless service to work from the hotel room.
Free carpark with plenty of room. We did a short drive to the municipal park and walked into the city centre for dinner that night and to see the Roman Baths and shop the next day.
The breakfast was sumptuous with plenty of choices and variety. It really felt like a treat.
Jane, our host, was also very gracious and helpful. She had ready advice on everything we inquired about and went out of her way to help us out when we needed to print out some driving maps.
The only glitch we encountered was that we could not dial out long distance. It turned out that she had forgot to switch on our extension when we arrived. I think that was sort of our fault though; arriving after normal hours I believe she just forgot to do it. I suspect that's an unusual occurrence.
I did quite a bit of price comparison before booking this room online. It was a very good deal compared to the other B&B's and small hotels available in Bath. I recommend it without reservation.

  • Liked — Everything down to small details was designed for comfort

My family (of five) and I really liked this hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Since they had the space, they gave us two rooms for the same price as one. Our daughters loved their room which was so cute and cosy. The bathrooms have been redone and are very nice -- even though we did run out of hot water for our teenager's shower. Breakfast was lovely and it's an easy drive to the park and ride which worked just fine. Bath is a gorgeous city, but don't forget about the most wonderful city park with gorgeous trees, plants and flowers just down the road from the hotel.

We stayed one night at the Aquae Sulis in Bath, UK We were on a 15 day holiday and Bath was sandwiched in the middle. Having stayed at a larger hotel in London and a smaller B&B close to Stonehenge the stay here was a welcome refuge. Our hostess Jane was pleasant, well informed and a delight to be around. A bundle of energy she wore many hats in providing service to her guests.

The Aquae Sulis is located on a busline easy to access for touring downtown. We had a car but downtown Bath does not lend itself well to personal driving. A small grocery store and washerette are close by. The rooms are spacy and comfortable, the internet service (wireless) excellent and free! Our English breakfast was very good and certainly met our nutritiona needs as well as offering other choices. We were served by pleasant staff. There was a lovely garden in back. One of our traveling companions was able to do her early moring tai chi there much to her delight.

Though short, our stay at Aquae Sulis was enjoyable, the atmosphere was peaceful and calming and contributed to great down time and renewal as we continued our travels in the UK.
