“Delicious tapas!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 21, 2012

Visited La Perla on a Saturday evening just after 6:30pm - we needed somewhere for a quick bite to eat before going to the Bath Beer festival! We were very impressed with the decor and ambience of the place - and the staff were really welcoming when we arrived.

Between four of us we had a couple of tapas dishes each plus a bottle of tempranillo. This was plenty!!!!

It was all delicious, and the bread was really, really good - very fresh and different varieties - olive, sundried tomato etc. The ham croquettes were yummy, the calamari was cooked really well, meatballs - very large, very tasty! - enough for 4 people. The mini-burgers were also very good!!!! There was loads of choice on the tapas menu - if we'd had enough room (and more time!) we would've sampled some more!

Wine and tap water was kept topped up by the staff - attentive without feeling like they were intruding. The tables are also large enough for all the tapas dishes - seems daft, but so often I've been to places where you run out of space for everything!!

Look forward to returning here soon!

“Fantastic night out!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 21, 2012

In Bath with friends for a weekend. This restaurant had been recommended to us so we were keen to see for ourselves. The restaurant is situated just outside the main centre of Bath close to the river. Hidden away in the basement this is a truly great find.

The staff are very friendly and service up there with the best. Food is simply sublime. We had around 16 tapas dishes between 5 of us. The prawns, the goats cheese and the patatas bravas were firm favourites. The white Rioja is highly recommended.

There was simply nothing that we as a party, four adults and a 12 year old, could actually improve. The bill with tip came to £160 representing great value too.

Great atmosphere, comfortable seating and a truly Spanish setting. Make sure you visit when you're in Bath.

“Unusual tapas.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 18, 2012

This is the second time we have visited this restaurant. The first time was brilliant as they were not busy. Yhis time they were busy with parties, but the food is good. The fish balls and the meat balls are delicious and are cooked very lightly. The lamb chops to die for. The pil pil was not up to scratch this time but OK. The desserts are fabulous, I could eat many. I had a cheese cake in a champayne glass with raspberry puree and cream. The only problem it is expensive, for 3 of us just under £100.

“Wow factor!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2012

We were recommended La Perla, along with the Italian next door and the Greek restaurant the other side, by our hotel and La Perla was the only one that that could accommodate us at the time we wanted that night, last Friday. We feel very fortunate to have eaten here, quite simply the best tapas we have ever eaten both in the UK and Spain! The monkfish was to die for, as were the garlic prawns, and the patatas bravas were fabulous. Add to that the wonderful surroundings in the arched restaurant which was both modern and comfortable, together with the very knowledgeable and friendly staff, who really couldn't do enough for us. With a delicious Reserva Rioja and seven tapas dishes, the bill came to a very reasonable £87. Would definitely make a point of going back if we visit Bath again.
