“great location and service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 2, 2013

this hotel is opposite the train station in Bath and in the heart of the city. It's within 10 mins walk of the Roman Baths/Pump Room. Hotel has comfortable rooms, an excellent in-house restuarant, polite and friendly staff throughout, but its the additional touches such as complimentary wine/water in room on arrival in addition to an excellent tea/coffee tray (with real filter coffee and a cafatiere) that I feel warrants the overall rating

Room Tip: ask for a room at the back of the hotel if you want a quieter room - also pre-book car park as only...

I booked a night away for my partner and I as part of a TravelZoo offer (£99 for dinner, bed & breakfast plus a bottle of wine in the room). We arrived by train so the hotel was in a perfect location. It was easy walking distance to everything in town too.

Staff were very polite and friendly throughout the stay. Dinner at the restaurant was nice, although quite quiet.

Room was spacious and clean. We were on the third floor facing into Manvers Street. Floorboards were a bit creaky but we didn't hear anything from the other rooms. We just tip-toed about a bit when we came back late. I guess you might expect that of a building of its age. There was a bit of noise from the road (nothing too bad though) until about midnight but we didn't hear anything from the train station, which I was a bit worried about when I booked.

Staff let us have a late check-out and were happy to store our bags on the last day whilst we visited the Thermae Bath Spa.

Overall a lovely experience and I would recommend to others. Thank you!

We had a lovely stay. We went with a Travelzoo offer which included B&B, dinner and a free bottle of wine. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. They went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. The food was fantastic. The location is great, right opposite the station and next door to Debenhams which completely pleased my mum! I would recommend this hotel to anyone. The room was rather small, but I would recommend the room at the back of the hotel where there is only the noise of fans or whatever they are outside, but no noise from the station. A lovely stay and would definitely stay again when next in Bath. Thank you, this was a treat for my mum and so glad you made it such a nice stay for her.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the back of the hotel.

My mother (79) and myself (54) had a wonderful stay here that had been booked last minute so I had not really checked the reviews or looked into it properly, but it was a Fantastic over night stay, room immaculate, oranges and fresh coffee, and chocolates. All of the staff were amazing, extremely helpful. Dinner was fantastic, so was the service, could not fault breakfast, Hotel is really handy for shops and the train station opposite. would recommend this hotel for all ages.
could not fault it .

lovely hotel, lovely room, lovely dinner and breakfast [included in our deal ] , exceptionally good reception staff [ no request too much]. Hotel in a great position for visiting the town. On a noisy junction, so ask for a rear room; not much of a problem though.

Room Tip: Why bother with a car.Arrive by coach or train just across the road.

This hotel came at the end of our Valentine weekend away to several different hotels in the South, and it made the holiday complete. We both enjoyed our one night here immensely. Our room was small but romantic. Plenty of towels and products. Very clean and comfortable. Our dinner bed and breakfast deal was excellent value. We would stay there again for sure. Particularly as Bath is superb and the hotel is perfect for exploring all the wonderful tourist locations. Look forward to next time.

spent the night 23/02/13 with freinds as wanted to visit the therme spa and stay over night in bath. as soon as we arrived the staff could not have been more helpfull. they had allready purchased the therme spa tickets on our behalf and they were waiting for us at reception on arrival.when we got to our rooms there were bags waiting for us containing a bath sheet, slippers and toiletries to take to the spa.in our room which was of good size and tastefully decorated we had a bottle of hardys chardannay, fruit bowl, bottled water and chocolates on our pillows (which were duck feather and down and really comfy). there was a well stocked hospitality tray with filter or instant coffee, tea and bouchards hot chocalate and buiscuits.on inspection of the bathroom there were plenty of tolietries and white fluffy towels warming on a heated towel rail.we rang down to reception for an ice bucket with ice and it arrived straight away with a freindly smile and wine glass.the staff could not do enough for us nothing was too much trouble.the 3 course a la carte meal was amazing as was breakfast.they kept our bags in a locked cupbaurd after checkout so we could shop before we returned home.we reported to the manager how pleased we were with the service and today i receaved an email thanking us for our visit and offering a 10% discount off further stays.we will definetly be back.also right opposite train and bus station

Room Tip: book direct with the hotel its cheaper than travel zoo and you only have to pay £20 deposit per pers...
