“Lovely place to visit a wonderful city”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 22, 2012

We have been visitng Bath a couple of days ago, just for one night (would like to have more time there!) and we stayed at the Tasburgh. Everything was excellent: the room, every other common place, the breakfast and what for us is very important: the kind, very kind, atittude of the people at the hotel that makes a huge difference. We felt that all the staff, like Susan the owner, Dalila at the reception desk, were always trying to help and solve our necessities. Would like to come back to Bath, a beatiful city with very nice people, and very specially to be back at the Tasburgh.

Over the last 3-4 years my wife and I have visited Tasburgh house 3 times. Last time in august this year. Two years ago just the two of us, and the other times with our daughters.
All of us has been very impressed with the special house, the beautiful garden and surroundings with the perfect view over the city of Bath. Situated just where the city and the countryside meet.
The best thing though, is the friendly and and relaxed atmosphere.
We will definitly come back!!

As regards things to do and and places to eat in Bath, we have found this: the wisest is to follow Susans recommendations and let her do the organizing.

My Mum and I stayed here recently and we cannot rate this hotel highly enough. Sue and her staff work very hard to make their guests have the most memorable stay. It feels like home, so many personal touches. The breakfast we had in the conservatory was fantastic; the homemade granola which Sue makes is delicious. Set in a beautiful position overlooking bath, the gardens are very beautiful and you can sit out and admire the view. Walking into Bath is easy too, along the Canal it only takes about 15 minutes. The rooms are to a very high standard, very quaint, cosy and comfortable so after a long day walking around exploring Bath we were glad to get back for a good sleep. Nothing was too much trouble here, Sue helped us with all the information we wanted to know about Bath. Tasburgh House is close enough to walk into Bath and being a little away from the centre, is away from the hustle and bustle of the tourists. My Mum loved it so much she said it was the best holiday ever, so we will be coming back again with the rest of the family. You really must stay here!

Tasburgh House is a lovely property but a little too ostentatious for our tastes. When you stay at a 5* hotel you understand that prices will be high and you need to dress appropriately, however at a B&B this really should not be the case. We were only able to manage one night in Bath due to a change in our itinerary and from what I have seen from other reviewers Bath is a fairly expensive place to stay, however I have to say that I was relieved to only have the one night in this place. There is no lift so if you have heavy bags be aware that you will have to get them up the stairs. It was very warm in the room so we slept with the windows open, which helped a little. The bed was comfortable although the room was pretty small. Location is close to town which is a plus. If we ever do return to Bath we will need to do some research for other options.

My wife and I stayed at Tasburgh for a mini honeymoon, a late surprise for my wife! Sue, the proprietor is very professional and her staff very helpful. The room was/is of good quality although we are not so sure about the "bear" on the bed when we arrived. The red petals on the bed and floor was a nice touch along with the champagne and strawberries. The breakfast is also excellent. The walk to Bath via the canal is good with lovely views. All in all an enjoyable stay, well worth the visit!

Our family of four stayed here for one prescious night in the midst of a two week campervan adventure. We chose it initially because it is one of the few BnB with a large enough room for a family. But utlimately, the experience was enhanced so much by the house, Sue, her staff, the amazing breakfast (yes, we are the family who used all the oranges one morning in the juicing machine!). The walk into Bath proper is a beautiful stroll along the canal, 20 min. Be forwarned that getting to the path way requires some "off roading" through damp grasses and lovely gardens. Don't wear sure you wouldn't want to get wet and bring a flashlight for the night time return! We wish we could have stayed longer!

Our family stayed at Tasburgh House on 16th August. We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay - the accommodation was first rate - really clean, and beautifully decorated. Every room was decorated and furnished beautifully, we had the Wordsworth room, Jane Austin room and Keats room. All the staff we met were friendly, helpful and professional. The house is lovely, and we enjoyed an early evening drink in the lounge, we all slept well in comfy beds and enjoyed a super breakfast. Myself and my daughter had the continental, really good value as included in the price, lots to choose from (we particularly enjoyed the variety of fresh fruit and the warm croissants!). The others had the cooked breakfast, and they felt they really had their monies worth, good choice, lots of it and nicely cooked. All in all we had a great stay, would definitely recommend Tasburgh House and would hope to visit again. Also worth noting that very easy to get into centre of Bath - we walked in in the afternoon. Alex organised us a taxi in the evening, reasonably priced and got there in no time. Excellent.

Room Tip: All rooms were lovely
