We stayed at the Limpley Stoke for 1 night as wedding guests. The reception was held at the hotel. The reception was fantasic, food was lovely and service was brilliant. Everything ran extremely smoothly. On arrival, we checked in and tried to enter our room but the lock was faulty. A hotel worker was straight to my room, and within 3 minutes we'd been upgraded (free of charge) to a family sized room and all our luggage was moved there for us!! The room was clean and tidy and well equiped. Tea/coffee making facilities, shampoo/shower gel, hairdryer, tv....
Breakfast was nice aswell and plenty of it. There's a buffet hot breakfast - choose from sausages, egg, mushrooms, bacon etc..... or help yourself to cereal or yoghurt, juice, coffee, tea etc.

The hotel is in lovely surroundings in the countryside with a lovely view from your room. Would stay at this hotel again

Booked into the BW Limpley Stoke Hotel through my Hotel Booking service with work. Had previously stayed here on another business trip a few years ago, which from what I remember was a good experience.

Unfortunately, to my standards this hotel falls quite a bit below from what I expect from a hotel.

Hotel is set in a beautiful part of Bath overlooking hills and the countryside of Somerset. But the Hotel has probably not been upgraded
or updated since my last visit about four years ago. It's a shame, because this Hotel is a popular tourist stop for people visiting the South West, but standards are below what is expected from a Best Western Hotel.

Regarding my visit, nice room up on the top floor, although room could do with modernising. Perhaps I've been spoilt by too many Radisson or Hilton Hotels over the past few years?

I decided to eat in on this occassion, with an A-La-Carte Menu on offer and the knowledge of the company is paying!! What was a great start to the meal soon went down hill as the courses progressed. I started on the King Prawns in a Tomato Sauce, okay 7/10, then followed by Sirloin Steak and Chips - more like Stewing Steak unfortunately, very poor 4/10. Finshed off with Pancakes with Ice Cream and Cherries, out of a packet? 5/10.

You're probably getting ready to cancel that holiday to Bath as you read this review - but don't let me put you off.

On the plus side, it is a nice relaxing Hotel with free WiFi and a nice Bar to be able to drink a Rum 'n' Coke whilst surfing the net and writing reviews like this!!

Overall, would I come back? Probably not, if your planning a trip down to Bath try either the Menzies Waterside or Hilton Hotel - in my
opinion of course!!

Ok where do i start...I am actually sitting in the seating area in this hotel whilst i am writing this review..I have stayed in many hotels and have always been charged to use the wireless network as much as 7.99 a day and here at this hotel is complimentary so you save alot of money do your business over the internet the connection is great and never lets you down..

Also you will find that if you order room service (Coffee, tea. ect) they will not put any service charge on top it is the same price as if you ordered it downstairs so there you are saving again...
Next whilst i was sitting here typing a coach party turned up they where from australia and they where stunned and over whelmed at the character the hotel they where all taking pictures of the massive chanderliers it is a stunning old hotel (which we should be proud of)...

The food was great (only let down was no menus in the rooms)
Now to the staff...The staff was very helpful in making sure you where happy with everything and comfortable...The rooms do need a little refurbishment but it all adds to the character and the rooms are getting refurbished one by one...

As others have said, the hotel's location can't be faulted, sat on a hill in a lovely valley with only the trains to disturb your sleep. The bad news is that this hotel needs some serious money spent on it; the whole place seems from a different era and would benefit from a total refurbishment - including removing the hideous carpets!

The rooms (I've stayed there twice now on business) are mainly old, tired and slightly shabby although adequate for a night away. The food in the Hop Pole pub (at the end of the drive, owned by the hotel) seems to be better than that at the hotel itself and is recommended although they do stop serving early at 21:00.

There is a bus (X4/X5) into Bath from just under the railway bridge at the end of the lane five minutes walk away with the last bus back at 23:15 - a very good service, but at £5.20 return it should be!!!

Overall, it's okay for a night but I'd not really want to stay much longer than that, but it avoids having to drive into Bath (terrible) and pay the extortionate parking fees there.
