“Excellent for our wedding and guests travelling from afar”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 26, 2014

I can not fault this hotel as either a hotel or a wedding venue, the staff were friendly yet professional, the food was to die for, the bridal suite was lovely with a large comfy bed. All of wedding guests stayed over and they all praised every aspect of their stay from the wedding to the food to the rooms to the staff. Perfect for those romantics agmongst us who just want to escape the hustle of Bath and feel like you're in the middle of nowhere. A bonus is their pub just at the bottom of the impressive driveway.

Room Tip: Excellent all rounder

We had our wedding reception at Limpley Stoke Hotel on Friday 23 May 2014. It is a beautiful venue, with stunning views over the valley and fantastic staff. Katie, the wedding coordinator, was exceptional - from our very first meeting until the day we left after the wedding. The staff ensured that our wedding was everything that we had hoped for and more.

The room where we had our wedding breakfast was beautifully decorated by the hotel staff. We supplied some decorations (although the chair sashes, table linen, table number holders, and cake stand and knife, were supplied by the hotel).

The food was delicious (we had leek and potato soup, duck, and profiteroles for the wedding breakfast, and bacon and sausage baps for the evening reception) and the portions were generous and perfectly cooked. The chef was happy to be flexible on the menus and also willingly and capably accommodated our guests who had special dietary requirements.

The hotel itself is beautiful, with large airy lounges, elegant chandeliers and an outside terrace. We had some wonderful photos taken in the grounds. The bar is cosy and stocks a great variety of drinks.

The bridal suite was wonderful and all our guests commented on how comfortable their rooms were.

Every single member of staff that we had contact with was helpful and friendly and did everything they could to make our wedding a magical experience.

Thank you all so much!

Sam and Naomi Edwards

We stayed here for one night on our way to Bath. There wasn't much room in the parking lot so we had to "create" a parking space. The reception people were nice. We had had a long day and I wasn't feeling well. So we had to stay at the hotel for dinner (it was already about 8:30 pm). We were able to order from the pub menu but eat in the dining room. The food was very good. The waiters were falling over themselves to help us (there were only a few customers in the place at that hour). The room was clean and comfortable. We didn't have breakfast there.

The hotel was really lovely, the food was good average 10 pounds for bar meals ie sausage and mash, views are good if u get the right room, although the rooms are very hot at night so ask for a fan at reception. Lovely little pub at the end of the hotel bottles of wine 10 pounds food good.
Breakfast in the hotel was good, staff very friendly and ready to help, will defiantly book again on my next visit to bath . Just a note it is a popular hotel for weddings so if u book check when booking it didn't cause us any problem but it's nice to know

Room Tip: Ask for the third floor with a view

Despite checking in the morning that our friends booking was ok after problems worth the computer we were greeted by a surly receptionist who grudgingly agreed that there was a record of our booking but we could not go to the room until 3 p.m. On return at 4 p.m it was like a nazi inquisition and all denials of a booking. Yet there were plenty of rooms available! Eventually we were allowed access after a various calls. Is this the welcome for guests from the other side of the world? Surely reception staff must have some form of hospitality training.? Uo
