Its a scam; they ask you to make a deposit when you book and when you arrive they ask for the whole bill before they shoe you round this shabby, unkempt and poor value for money " hotel".
My wife and I were shown to our room which had not been made up and looked like there had been a party a week before: smelly, rotting food, and bottles with mold on them....uughh.
We walked out but they would not refund our deposit or balance, So beware. Zero rating.

Room Tip: This is a Victorian shambles

This place is like faulty towers! Do not stay in this hotel that hasn't been updated since 1972. The rooms are damp with water stains to the ceilings and wallpaper coming off the wall.

2 of the superior rooms have conservatories and four poster beds! You'd think this would be nice. But they are terrible. One of them doesn't have a curtain between the room and conservatory, so you have to close the curtains to the coonservatory. They have lovely views over the grounds and swimming pool. Wow a pool. Shame it's not been cleaned this summer! There was a hot tub, but we didn't venture that far.

We also had 2 rooms upstairs that had pimp furniture. One was pink and the other purple velor with diamonte struds. And one of them had a bathroom bigger than the room.

The general cleanliness was very poor with hair in the showers, toilets, walls etc. The carpets were not clean and badly stained.

Breakfast was a self service! Can I have scambled egg on toast. Certainly came the reply, the bread for the toast is over there if you can cook your own, we will bring you the eggs.

Room Tip: Stay somewhere else.

... If you are not expecting a modern hotel!
It was one of the least expensive hotels we could find on www.betterpricehotels.com in Bath at a busy time.
The manager - the only staff member we saw - was pleasant and carried our bags up the narrow stairs to our room for us.
The room was adequate, a little small for 2 people, but the bed was comfortable and though the decor is a little tired ( as is the hotel) the room was clean. Plenty of hot water in the shower.
A good English breakfast was include d in the price.
The walk to the city centre took us a timed 16 minutes following the directions provided by the hotel. It is all downhill. We caught a bus back. They are frequent but at £2.50 each, it may pray to catch a taxi if there are a number of you.
Parking is at a premium in Bath but it is free at hotel and the manager readily agreed to let us leave the car there after we checked out so that we could sightsee.

3rd time we have stayed in Bath, definitely worst place we have stayed Reading previous reviews I would have to disagree that it's a 15 minute walk to the centre, only if you walked briskly! More like 25 mins.
Hotel needs a total refurb stuck in a time warp! As another review stated the skirting board in our room had something spilt down it ( coffee/ tea) the previous review was done in August , it was still the same when we there yesterday!!! Our bedroom was No 15 in the basement which I didn't like it just felt cold & dinghy, but again like a previous review money was taken upfront..
The bed was an antique four poster and every time you moved it creaked ! The pillows were flat& mattress too hard. We both had a very poor nights sleep. Tables in dining room felt sticky.
This hotel felt uncared for ( I believe someone runs it for the owner) needs a serious makeover.....

Just stayed and this hotel for 2 nights and would never go back there. The reception we got wasn't very friendly and payment in full demanded straightaway. Got shown to room which was hideous. Dated, dirty and really dark. When we decided to go to bed we relished the bed was actually broken on one side and collapsed. Tried to ring reception and ring night bell but no answer. Next day we went and explained and got moved rooms, this one was a little better but mattress was still pretty uncomfortable. The springs were really digging in. Cooked breakfast was greasy and not very nice. Fruit looked really i appealing and poor range of cereal. The only good thing was the parking but the hotel was so far away and disappointing it voided that. Would not stay here again

We have just stayed for 2 nights at the Wentworth House, and I can honestly say the best thing about the Hotel was the off-road car parking, which is scarce in Bath. The state of the hotel was shabby to say the least. The rooms were small and the en-suite shower miniscule.
Our room wasn't cleaned for the second day, so no clean towels etc. This hotel lacks any maintenance to the receptions or bedrooms, it's not a place we would recommend or revisit.,,

Room Tip: Try a different hotel

Me and my friends stayed in a quadruple room at this hotel for three nights. It is situated 15 min walk from the city center with an uphill walk returning to the hotel. This (somewhat) inconvenience was out-weighted by the amazing view, cute rooms, good English breakfast, and service-minded staff. A special thanks to the manager always greeting us with a nice smile, chatting a bit, and looking out for our best interests. The hotel have a hot tub in the back garden for only £6 and you are offered the view over the hills of Bath. If I ever come back to Bath I will stay at Wentworth!

Room Tip: Rooms on top floor with windows to the back yard offers an fantastic view over Bath.
