“Terrific Small Museum”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 11, 2013

We went to the Holbourne because of a special portrait exhibit, but we were delighted with the collections of the museum as a whole. The place is fillled with wonderful paintings and an assortment of treasures--most of them small in size, but of very high quality--and the exhibit spaces are brilliantly arranged. I'd say this is a "must see" for anyone who visits Bath and has an hour or two to spare after the obligatory visit to the Roman Baths.

“Holburne Museum - well worth a visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 9, 2013

At the east end of the wonderful Great Pulteney Street, this Museum is well worth a few hours of your time, and it also has a good cafe. We saw a special exhibition of folded linen - not my usual scene, but very interesting.

“Concerts at the Holburne Museum - Excellent”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 8, 2013

What a fabulous Museum this is, great art and decorative item collection set in wonderful grounds with a lovely interesting cafe selling great baked good and good coffee.

I truly recommend the lunchtime concerts, now that is a treat ! Where can you go, and llisten to a lunchtime concert, which held i.n room where you are surrounded, by amongst othere, a Gainsborough collection! And when the concert is finished, you can stroll around the gardens or along Great Pultney Street which is a dellight in itself.

“A gem!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 8, 2013

This Georgian mansion is at the head of a terrace of lovely Georgian houses and its setting on the edge of a park is especially nice. The modern extension at the rear is not visible from the road and not to my taste but has allowed the creation of excellent display areas and a ground-floor restaurant that served great food and cakes. A small museum and gallery but the objects and paintings are very well displayed and interesting.

“beautiful house and gardens”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2013

This is a true gem within a bustling city. It is a modest building with a modern twist at the back, its clean and VERY well kept. We didnt eat at the cafe but it looked and smelt amazing. the staff were very friendly too!
