“Comfortable, clean, good location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 31, 2014

We stayed here for two nights, nice welcome and were able to park outside with free pass. The car stayed there all weekend as we were within 10 min walk from everything including Roman baths, shops and restaurants. Dreadful weather but warm cosy room and plenty of hot water. Really good breakfast with friendly service.Great place to stay. Would return. Beware if on top floor lots of stairs (of course!) not a problem for us and nice view over rooftops. Emma.

Don't get me wrong, the room was absolutely beautiful (although the bathroom grout could do with a firm clean) and was comfortable, and the amenities in the room great. The position of the B&B allows you to walk to town and all the beautiful places in Bath with ease. It even has and hop on/hop off bus stop just outside it's door... but something was missing in this B&B.

I've read the other reviews and maybe we caught them at a bad time, because we didn't really feel welcome at all, perhaps it was because we arrived late (about 9pm) and had to let ourselves in, but we really did not find the owners welcoming at all.

The breakfast was wonderful (except for one hiccup).

For the price I would expect the grout in the bathroom to be clean and the lemon curd to not have mould in it, and perhaps a bit of warmth from the owners. We have had better experiences at many other B&Bs around the world.

Thank you for your review. We are glad you enjoyed your room and found your stay comfortable. We are also happy to hear you enjoyed breakfast as it always prepared with care and we are very proud of our breakfast.

However, we are sad to hear that you did not feel welcome during your stay at Brocks. Our check in times are between 2pm and 6pm and if a guest is known to be arriving after this time, it is our policy to leave the key in our key safe. Our guests are made aware of this prior to arrival.

It is our absolute priority, that all of our guests are made to feel welcome during their entire stay at Brocks and we are sorry if you feel we fell short on this particular occasion.

With regards to the lemon curd, we can only apologise for this, as we did when you brought it to our attention during your stay. The jams, spreads etc are checked on a regular basis and we feel it may have been due to the heat. This does not excuse us, however, we did provide you with a fresh jar the next morning and apologised again.

We do hope that you will stay with us again so that we can show that all of our other reviews are a true reflection of the service at Brocks.

A truly delightful guesthouse, absolutely deserving of its 4 star rating. Just 6 rooms in this beautiful Georgian guesthouse, situated on a street in between the Royal Crescent and the Circus, just a 5 minute walk into town. All the rooms are individual and tastefully furnished, giving one a feeling of privilege to be staying in somebody's own home. Plenty of choice for breakfast and good portions. The owners are extremely welcoming and hospitable...... To the extent of leaving 2 cupcakes and card in our room when they discovered it was my birthday. Would highly recommend and intend to make a return visit.

Room Tip: Ignore fitness centre rating.... There isn't one. Clicked in error and couldn't change it...

A group of us have just come back from Bath for Weekend of Chrimbo shopping, Christmas Market, good food and plentiful wine.
The location is perfect, close enough to the centre that makes it easy and quickly to go anywhere with the town. It has no car parking facility but if you are lucky enough you can obtain one of their parking permits and. If not Charlotte Street car park is right behind, 8.50 for 24 hours.
Breakfast is fantastic, good quality and plentiful and it makes a change to actually have a decent strength and tasting coffee and not just black water!!
Room are well presented and equipped; though a tad too warm for my liking, soon resolved.
The guest lounge isa good focal point and relaxation zone to ponder the day and hopefully now one young lady knows how to lay a fire properly!!! :-)
Looking forward to our next visit in March.

I stayed for one night at Brocks during the Christmas market in Bath. Brocks is really well located just off the Circus and close to the centre of Bath and is located in a classic Bath Georgian townhouse. The welcome was really warm the staff were eager to help and the accommodation was comfortable and spotlessly clean. The bedroom I stayed in was en suite and decorated in a style which is in keeping with the style of the house, not modern but perfectly comfortable. There was plenty of complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits in the room, which is always good to see. There was a reasonable choice at breakfast, enough to please most people and the food itself was well cooked and nicely presented. The property has several floors so lots of stairs so, not ideal for anyone with mobility issues but, that's to be expected in a historic building. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay at Brocks in Bath.

We did an overnight stop to visit the city. This guest house was everything we hoped, beautifully decorated and full of nice little touches. Good breakfast in the morning and very friendly and helpful hosts. Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
