“A great historical site”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 7, 2013

This was my second stop in Bath and I think I learned to appreciate it more the second time around. The detailed architecture and ancient history provide a great deal for the interested traveller. It is strange however to walk amongst 1000+ yr old buildings that are now home to your favourite franchises all lining the ancient walks. It's a fact of the world we live in, but sometimes you could do without a the box shops on every corner.

One Tip:
This stop was made en route back to london with more baggage than you would want to walk around and enjoy yourself. If this happens to you, there is a small (french?) internet cafe, just outside the main train station where you can stash your bags for about 5GBP. Worth the fee in my opinion.

“Bath Abbey”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 6, 2013

Worth the visit. This was one of the first churches I visited on my trip to Europe and one of my favorites. It was very interesting to walk around the church and read the memorials which cover the walls and floors. Right next to the Roman Baths, an easy stop before or after. No formal entry fee but a donation is suggested.

“Wonderful architecture”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 6, 2013

Wonderful architecture and incredible history. Not to be missed when visiting Bath. Visit early in the day to avoid the crowd and make the most of it's calming atmosphere.

This historic building is currently undergoing extensive repairs to it's floors - something to do with the decay of all those buried beneath during the past many hundred of years!! Please visit and donate to help keep this incredible building intact for another 1000 years.

“Bath Abbey”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2013

This Abbey is lovely and a voluntary donation on entry. I really recommend doing the tour to the top of the bell tower. It is worth the £6 tour fee to see the Abbey from inside the steeple, the bells and the views from the top on a clear day are just a beautiful way to see Bath from above. The walk up the steps is done in two parts. There are no photograph restrictions inside or outside the Abbey which is great. This Abbey is being kept in very good condition and the people are very friendly, helpful and informative. You can sit and enjoy the whole atmosphere of this Abbey.

“Bath Abbey & excellent tower tour”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2013

The Abbey is a stunning building. Amazing fan vaulted ceiling. One of the best buildings I have visited. If you are in Bath on a dry day take a tour of the tower. You climb stairs get to see the bell ringing room, the bells up at the next level before ending up at the top of the tower with 360degree views of the city.
