I stayed in the downstairs twin room with a friend and loved it! The room was clean, nicely decorated and big enough to eat, sleep and relax in. There were also lots of nice touches (bottle of wine on arrival, magazines, dvds etc). Although you couldn't cook a meal in the kitchen, the microwave, kettle, crockery and cutlery were definitely enough to feed yourself. We made and ate breakfast in the room and it was perfect for that.
The family who own it are really friendly and helpful (recommending places for dinner, offering to take us to the station and into town etc).
Although slightly outside Bath town centre, it only took us 20 minutes to walk so it wasn't inconvenient at all. The walk back is uphill and quite steep so perhaps not ideal for everyone. A taxi ride cost about £8.
I would certainly recommend it for a weekend (or long weekend).
