“Very good b&b”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 16, 2012

Spent 2 nights at the Devonshire House. We were welcomed by very friendly and helpful host Judith, as the owners were away. Nice double room at the back, quiet, clean and comfortable. Good continental breakfast, plenty of choice. Good location, only short walk into Bath (Bus stop opposite for those who can't face the walk). Only negative comments would be (1) we found the pillows uncomfortable, and (2) the shower was not in seperate ensuite bathroom, but actually in the room (if you get me?). Overall, though very nice and excellent value for money.

This is a great little place to stay. We didnt find the walk from the train station too far at all and felt at home as soon as we arrived. Great room, very cosy and tasty breakfast - would definitely recommend.

Had an interview in Bath and decided to stay for the weekend. The b&b was wonderful and the hosts fantastic you really feel that they love what they do. Were very welcoming and gave some really good advice on places to see and walks to take. B&B overall the room was clean and comfortable and cleaned everyday, breakfast was great and the hosts flexible to my request for cheese on toast.

We organised a late check in before we left which was really easy once we arrived. Our room was really nice, clean and had a very comfortable bed. The breakfast spread was fantastic and great value for money, more than what we were expecting. The hosts were friendly and welcoming and gave us great tips on what to see in Bath. We especially enjoyed wandering to town via the view overlooking Bath.

We booked this B&B for one night on the recommendations below and were not disappointed. The hosts are effecient and very friendly. Lovely twin room overlooking the back was nice and quiet. We parked right outside and left the car there all day without restrictions or payment. Great breakfast the complementary continental spread is really delicious & varied.
We ate in the Devonshire Arms in the evening where we had a warm welcome and a lovely meal reasonably priced. Great leather suite for a relax after a busy day in Bath.
Lots of ideas of what to do thoughtfully compiled by the hosts. We took the scenic walk down to the city which had fabulous views and only took about half an hour to the Cathedral. We caught the number 13 bus back which stops just down the road.
A great find if you have a short break in Bath!! Good to go early December when the Christmas market is in full swing.

Room Tip: The room overlooking the back is quiet.

Very warmly welcomed by Louise. Clean and comfortable B&B fairly close to the town centre (20 minute walk). Would highly recommend this to anybody visiting Bath. Continental breakfast included in the room rate which is good value for money. Would recommend the pub next door, the Devonshire Arms. We stayed on a Tuesday evening when the offer in the pub is 2 steaks and a bottle of wine for £20.00 and the pub staff were also very friendly.
Louise recommened the free walking tour of Bath. This is carried out by one of the Lord Mayor's staff and is very interesting and informative. Duration is approximately 2 hours and is run twice daily meeting outside the Baths.

We arrived around 22:30 and the host was almost going to bed - we didn't know the check-in is before 7 p.m., so keep this in mind as late arrivals are not very welcome.
The room was perfect: clean and cosy, with all necessary details. The photos on the website are very accurate, so we basically got what we had expected plus a warm reception and a nice continental breakfast - you can choose between Continental and English. A nice place to stay!

Room Tip: It is not noisy, the rooms are cosy and clean.
