“Very cheap mass produced food - good value”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2012

The Hungry Horse aka Oxon Priory is part of the Greene King group and has a fairly standard menu but the food is cheap. Good value but sometimes they get the steak cooked wrong so suggest if you enjoy a steak cooked a specific way then avoid this place.

“not good at all”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2012

myself and wife and daughter went on friday around 4pm,ordered fish and chips, the young lad who was on the till was not helpful and had a dont care type of attitude,we sat down in the booth area to wait for food, the seats were very very dirty, the table was dirty and greasy it looked like it hadnt been cleaned for a while, there was a dirty carpet under foot which needed a damn good hoover, there were flys buzzing around, when the food came it was over cooked and not even service with a smile, the walls were tatty with paint coming of the walls, when we went outside so our daughter could play on the slide, there were wires hanging of a tree which is a trip hazard,
we will not be eating there again as it has gone downhill with a dirty atmospere.

“A Faulty Towers Moment”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed July 7, 2012

Visited this restaurant in June .... food was terrible. We did have a good laugh 'though during the ordering process when we were told .... sorry no chips, mushrooms, baked potato, lasagne .... the list went on ..... it was quite amusing really. Pity the food experience wasn;t as amusing!

This was a Monday - maybe they had a very busy week-end .... but .... running out of chips!????

They may have been understaffed but dirty plates were left all over the restaurant, there didn;t seem to be anyone clearing tables once people had left.

“good menu”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 8, 2012

We take the grandchildren here as they like the children's meals and we can recommend the sizzling chicken scewers but a tip here is to ask for your chips sperately and they tend to burn if they are on the sizzler.

if you need to eat at odd hours this is a good place to good - good food and a reasonable price - but can get very busy and noisy at times
