My partner and I visited The Curry House on Friday night in search of comfort food to soothe our flu-ridden bodies. The staff greeted us at the door and despite us only visiting for take away they showed us to a table to look at the menu, offered a drink while waiting and gave chocolates with the bill, nice touches (and nice chocolates!). As we had chosen to take-away this classed as collection which allows a 15% discount. The bill for the 2 of us came to just under £17 which we were very happy with. The delivery is free within 3 miles.
I had the chicken korma with lemon fried rice and a roti, There was plenty of chicken, the sauce was very very tasty, full of flavour, the rice was lovely with edible pieces of lemon, I have to admit...i ate the lot it was fantastic!
My partner had the lamb jalfrezi with chilli fried rice and a roti, I tend to judge a good indian if he saves some for breakfast, he did and was very happy with his meal, I can't say much more as I didn't try it...far too spicy for me!
The mango chutney accompanying the complimentary poppadoms was also delicious.
Overall we found the perfect antedote in our search for tasty food to re-awaken our taste buds and will most definitely be visiting again soon.
Ps. The Curry House is the Indian at the bottom of Mardol, next door to the Shrewsbury Hotel (i always get confused between the 2 and can never remember the names!)
