“Nice little place in Ludlow - excellent value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2012

This is a lovely B&B in Ludlow. The main thing that attracted us was it's value for money. The breakfasts are great. We agree with some of the reviewers that the decor is dated. The bedroom does need some general maintanence to bring it up to a 5 star review.
However, we are going back there again shortly and that for us is a rarity.
The owners are delightful and wonderfully welcoming. It won't be long before you know the history of the place. Be sure to look at the aerial photograph in the hallway of the main house. It'll will give you some indication of what the owners have done to it over the years.

Wow, we arrived for a two night break Tuesday, on arrival we were met by very friendly and welcoming staff and owner who very quickly took us up to our room Fairway 2, a very large room full of character and spotlessly clean with every mod con, fresh fruit bowl, water in the fridge, tea and coffee making facilities all of a high standard, super kingsize bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was amazing with a good choice of very good quality food ( I could go on about it, it was just amazingly enjoyable) and the hosts, Stephen and Barbara who looked after us were extremely nice and very knowledgable about the area, nothing was too much trouble.
Our room overlooked the Golf Course which was the prettiest par 3 course I have ever seen and played on.....a total pleasure,.
So to sum up, don't hesitate in visiting this lovely area of the country and be sure to stay here.

Room Tip: Fairway 2 overlooks the Golf Course and is very spacious and quiet (above the office and Golf Shop)

Absolutely beautiful location, with a lovely approach to the accommodation. The room was large, with nice features such as exposed beams. Unfortunately, the decor was not for me. It felt dated and uncomfortable. Bed was nice and comfortable, but a little short. Some nice touches, such as sanitary bags in bathroom. No spare towels, and those that I did have were not very fluffy. My stay was nice, I just felt a little unsettled. The fact that I was expected to know what I wanted for breakfast an evening in advance, was a little bit weird.

We were very impressed with the high standard of the accomodation and the facilities provided. It is situated in a quiet location only a few minutes from Ludlow town centre. The owners are very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed a full English breakfast, perfectly cooked in the lovely dining room, overlooking the well tended gardens. We would highly recommend Elm Lodge to our family and friends. You will not be disappointed.

My wife and I have just returned from a 3 night stay in the coach house apartment and have to say that the staff's care and attention to detail, all the excellent facilities and Ludlow itself combined to leave us both completely de-stressed. The bed in the apartment was wonderfully comfy and Steve and Barbara were both extremely helpful and welcoming. We would have no hesitation at all in returning and I hope we do.

Room Tip: Would be a great place to take a party

We have just stayed at Elm Lodge for a 3 night break and would definitely recommend it to others. The welcome was wonderful. We were made to feel very welcome from the moment we arrived.
The room was beautifully presented and very comfortable – a real home from home. To be greeted by a fruit bowl and bottled water in the fridge just added to the experience. We couldn’t fault the breakfast – really set us up for the walk into Ludlow.
The Unicorn is certainly worth a visit but if you’re stuck for ideas on where to eat and drink then take advice from Stephen and Barbara.
We will certainly be back!

Stayed at the Elm Lodge for 1 night what a lovely peacefull and relaxing place. Our room was in the annex attached to the main house up the wooden stairs a double room with an amazing view and oak beams to the ceiling, full size bathroom with a lovely power shower and full size bath. Breakfast was in the main house and was lovely fresh cooked and plenty of choice. It really is in beautiful grounds and would have loved to stay for longer than the 1 night. A nice 15 minute walk into the town centre with lovely old fashioned shops. We ate at a pub/restaurant called The Unicorn which was recommended by Steven the owner of Elm Lodge, the food was beautiful I had the slow cooked bellypork and my husband had the fish it was superb. Would love to stay here again but next time for longer.
