“Very relaxed place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 17, 2012

We were lucky to get a room as Liz usually asks for 2 night bookings at the weekend but she kindly let us have the Milton Room for one night. The experience was lovely. Beautiful room, great breakfast and yummy tea and cake on arrival. Ironbridge is a fascinating town and Library House is right in the middle. Would thoroughly recommend the town and most of all the B&B.

We stayed at the Library House with friends for three nights and what a lovely experience. The Owner- Lizzie and her lovely dog- Fizz were so welcoming, it seemed as though we'd known each other for ages. We had the 'Milton' room which was spacious with a massive bed and virtually new shower in the en suite. Parking is the only (slight) problem, although a free parking permit comes with the room, it can sometimes be difficult to get in the nearest car park- you can pull in close to the Hotel though to deliver and collect your luggage. Although the Library House doesn't prove evening meals it does provide the very best breakfast imaginable, the bacon is more like gammon, the salmon scrambled egg parcels are brilliant and after your breakfast you won't want anything else until dinner in the evening. Highly recommended!

Room Tip: Rooms facing the road are sunny albeit slightly slightly noisy. We found the Milton to be excellent...

We wandered past the charming The Library House last year on a visit to Ironbridge; it looked interesting so we took away the details for future reference. I was glad we did! We wanted to return to Ironbridge again this year to see all the museums we didn't get a chance to see last time, so I called and was fortunate enough to book the Eliot Room for two nights.
Liz welcomed us on arrival with tea in the guest lounge which was a pleasant surprise. The room was roomy with a newly refurbished bathroom and a view of the river (it's the upstairs window on the right in the main photo). It was a Saturday and we hadn't booked anywhere for dinner but Liz phoned around and the Severn Restaurant had a cancellation which she snapped up for us; an example of how she goes to great lengths to ensure her guests have a memorable stay.
You can read the other reviews and I can only agree with all the other excellent aspects of this establishment. The superb breakfast sticks in my memory - an excellent selection and we didn't need much for lunch each day.

Room Tip: Each of the four rooms has its own unique character. Next time I'd be tempted to choose the Chau...

Lizzie and Georgina are wonderful hosts and we really felt at home. We were given a parking permit for the Station Yard car park which is just over the bridge and that is where the car stayed for the whole time.

Lizzie and Georgina really know how to make you feel comfortable. Our arrival was greeted with a glass of wine which went down well.

The Chaucer room was although small was spotless. We had a lovely terrace garden which on a fine day would be ideal for chilling out. We did grab a few hours reading out there together with being able to smoke outside on the terrace with a coffee in the morning.

Breakfasts were extra special and beautifully presented.

How many B & Bs do a downturn service in the evening. I was astounded. We went out for our evening meals and when we returned the huge bed was ready to slip into and the blinds closed. The last time we had that service was a 5* hotel.

I could go on but everything has been said before.

Long may the success of this B & B continue with Lizzie at the helm. A wonderful place to relax. We will certainly go back

Room Tip: We chose the Chaucer room, although it is the smallest you do have a pretty terrace garden if the we...

We visited the Library House in July,2012, after reading all the glowing reviews on Tripadvisor and were not disappointed. Lizzie and Georgina, gave us a warm welcome and we could not fault our accommodation, breakfasts or hospitality.
Ironbridge is a fascinating place to visit, with lots to do and great eateries.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Milton Room which has a view of the Severn River.

A home from home in the centre of Ironbridge. Very comfortable room with private terrace garden, lovely old house and a warm welcome from Liz. Located a stone's throw from the bridge but off the main street it's a perfect hideaway right in the centre, a great base to explore this fascinating area. A very good breakfast set us up for the day and Liz's recommendations for our evening meals were spot on.
Thanks Liz.

Room Tip: If the weather is good choose the smaller Chaucer room, although smaller than the other rooms it has...
