We visited this restaurant last night (Tues) with a voucher. We did have a peculiar experience attempting to book a table but perseverance paid off. On first impressions the restaurant was very interestingly decorated and a delight to sit and eat. The piped music was very authentic (I can't stand a restaurant which plays disco music when themed music is appropriate, so 5 stars there. The waiter was very well versed in the menu and gave us tips on what and how to order (although the waiter is very quietly spoken, he is extremely polite and efficient). We were offered Red Stripe beer as there was no Carling which was ok, but I really do recommend the Banana Bread Beer which is absolutely amazingly gorgeous!!!!! We were given 4 large pieces of watermelon on the house which was a nice touch and very refreshing to the palate. Food is served in tapas/meze type portions and are designed to share, which I love. Highly recommended is the mutton or goat curry, plantain, pork and butter bean dish and do not miss out on the cajun chicken wings for starters, they are the best we've every tasted!!!! They come in small tapas size dishes and do appear to look burnt, but this is just the cajun spices...yummy!!! After feeling a little on the full side we decided to try a dessert between the two of us, which was just perfect and ended a really enjoyable meal. Must go again and maybe will try to get a table when the live entertainment is in full swing.
