“Not here for the food - just the Ale”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 4, 2013

It really is a shame there isn't a "Pub" option on the UK Trip Advisor!!

What can I say - this place is that of legend... Always great service and some of the most well kept ales in the UK

“Great value and a warm welcome”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 4, 2013

If you want cordon blue food, then this is not the place to come and you shouldn't expect it - but if that sounds like a criticism it shouldn't because this is just a fantastic place to eat and drink. We eat here a lot, generally Sunday lunch and for two of us with a drink and a desert I always have change from £20 pound. The food is good hearty stuff as well, lovely meat veg and gravy, and even at very busy times it's rare you have to wait more than 5-10 minutes for a proper stomoach lining English meal. It's what you wish your school dinners had been like. The range of beers is unsurpassed I think at just about any pub in the UK, and with the famous Kelham Island brewery next door you can be sure they won't run out! Expect to pay £5 for a main course and 2 quid for a pudding. Well worth it!

“Good food, excellent beer”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 23, 2013 via mobile

Food always of a high standard, nicely prepared and presented. The real draw is the range of beers, classic real ale pub.

Only drawback, not enough room, shows how popular it is!

“Pub grub”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 10, 2013

The Fat Cat is a great real ale pub.
Duncan and the staff are always welcoming.
The beer is great and varied, pork pie, crisp and nuts go great with the beer.
The food is OK.
Eaten there four times, the curry night is good value, the pub food is OK.
Staff and atmosphere get 10/10
Food 5/10

“Top place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 9, 2013 via mobile

I love this pub. It's like pubs should be, great beers, really well kept, people all chatting to complete strangers . It even smells like a proper pub... Go if you are 50 miles of Sheffield!!!
