“Lovely farm mini-break on the outskirts of Sheffield”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 4, 2014 for a stay in April 2014

My husband and I stayed at Bents Farm just after Easter this year and found a warm welcome and a nice welcome basket waiting for us. There were only the two of us so we had the run of the place but it actually easily sleeps six. The master bedroom is large and the bed is extremely comfy. There are lots of lovely little touches like a box with the things you might have forgotten in the bathroom, a choice of pillow types and a jar of marshmallows for roasting on the open fire. The cottage is tastefully decorated with Orla Keily curtains and Cath Kidston pillows and a large dining table perfect for family or group meals (or romantic meals for two in our case). There is a well-equipped kitchen although we didn’t use it that much as we spent a lot of time at the pub over the road – the Cricket Inn – which does lovely food. The cottage feels like it’s out in the country but isn’t isolated and is just a short walk into the local village and about a 15 minute drive into Sheffield so lots of rainy day options too. Recommended.

“Perfect”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 24, 2014 for a stay in May 2014

We recently spent a wonderful couple of weeks in this lovely cottage. Just outside Sheffield, surrounded by small farms, within easy walking distance of the moors, and just up the lane from the wonderful Cricket Inn, this is the perfect base for exploring the Peak District and Yorkshire. It is also within walking distance to shops in Dore, and a regular bus into Sheffield city centre. The cottage is well appointed, with very comfortable beds and everything you need in a 'home away from home'. Our hosts had thought of everything, from essentials like milk, tea and coffee, to fresh flowers on the table and firewood for the fireplace (and matches). There were also toys for kids, board games and a good supply of DVDs. Highly recommended.

Thanks so much for taking the time to leave your comments, Barbara. It was a real pleasure to have you all at Bents Farm for a few weeks. I hope the long flight back to Australia isn't too bad. Best wishes, Kim and Mark

Wonderful. This is a beautiful place to stay with every comfort and many extra touches which make you feel really treated. The surroundings call out to be explored and the location is great for the Peak District and the city. Lovely, relaxed and helpful owners too. We can't wait to go back.

“Friendly farm cottage right by the Peak District”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 11, 2014 for a stay in April 2014

A lovely newly refurbished cottage on a farm. Bright and airy bedrooms upstairs, and characterful snug lounge and dining room downstairs - with real fires.

Helpful owners, and lots of thoughtful touches in the house (like marshmallows to roast on the fire!)

We travelled with our 2 year old, who was well provided for with a high chair etc, and some lovely wooden toys.

Great pub (The Cricket Inn) just across the cricket field from the house, with lovely food.

Only a 15 minute drive to Chatsworth, which was a good fun day trip.

Very pleasant accommodation, clean tidy, good facilities. Incredibly comfortable beds. Friendly and very helpful owners. Plenty of local walking and close to the Peaks, and yet 15 minutes from Sheffield city centre.

“Perfect cottage, with perfect pub down the lane!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 17, 2014 for a stay in March 2014

Bents Farm is in a wonderful location, not far out of Sheffield city and yet in peaceful idyllic farmland. Splendid walks are right from the door, and the Cricket Inn just down the lane is a great place to socialise and eat. The Farmhouse is warm, comfortable, and relaxing - not one but two real fires - and the owners are very helpful and friendly.

“A peaceful place to relax and unwind”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 12, 2014 for a stay in December 2013

We quickly felt at home in the farmhouse and slept so well in the peace and quiet. A lovely autumn walk up the lane onto Blacka Moor was perfect for blowing the cobwebs away. This was an easy place to be with the children and the local pub is a great place to eat. We'll definitely be back!
