My 3rd visit to Peppercorn - I suppose you can't have too much of a good thing... There was no objection to me choosing a few starters, Tapas-style, and no main. Unlike many restaurants, there was no question of a minimum charge. In the end, after quaffing rather too much Prosecco and Chablis, my total spend was probably more than average anyway ! Salmon 3 ways was excellent - just the right amount of smoking in the smoked version - Smoked Eel Ballotine with horseradish yogurt & cucumber granita was to die for, Crispy duck leg bonbon, tea-smoked breast, hoisin & cucumber salad was good and Home-made scotch egg (quail) with an apple & pancetta salad was brilliant. A reasonable Prosecco, by the glass, an excellent bottle of Chablis, the relaxed ambience and the friendly but non-intrusive and, on the whole, efficient service, combined with the food to make a very enjoyable Friday evening. Highly recommended.
