I ordered the Pulled Pork and Sweet Chilli Jam Burger with fried pickles as an extra topping and a side of BBQ sauce. Firstly I was fairly disappointed in the size of the pot of sauce considering the 50p price tag, as it was little bigger than a shot glass. Secondly I received fried pickles as a side dish instead of a topping, despite deliberately specifying that I wanted them as a topping. This meant that it was £2.95 instead of an additional £1, fortunately they were quite nice so didn't mind that I received a few more, although they would have been nicer as chip sized slices instead of halves as it was a bit much after 3 or 4 (I had a basket of about 7)! Thirdly and most disappointingly, I had no sweet chilli jam. After asking a member of staff I was told that the pork was 'cooked in the jam', but this confused me as the jam came as an additional extra for all the burgers (like the pickles). Was I just being fobbed off as there was a mistake or they had run out of jam? If not, the pork wasn't vaguely sticky, sweet nor did it taste like chilli.
I was really looking forward to trying out the burgers after being told by friends how good they were. I hope it was just an off day, as what I was served was very over-priced for what I received.
