“Enchanting venue - average food”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 6, 2013

Entering Tassili transports you from the hustle and bustle of the city to the middle of Morocco in a snap. The atmosphere is sensual satins, vibrant colours all warmed by the of glow candle light. It cetainly is impressive, and a fantastic venue for a cosy date.
The service is friendly and warm, and the non alcoholic cocktails are zesty and full of life (venue does not serve alcohol).

The food is not up to notch with the venue. The tagine was okay, and the vegetarian moussaka was unpleasent at best. Luckily this was redeemed by the wonderful warm Baklava, greek yoghurt and honey. An overall mixed experience.

Would I return? Would love the experience the ambience again, but the food needs improving.

“Great Restaurant!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 25, 2013

We went to Tassili on the 24th April 2013 as a spur of the moment decision. The waiting staff were attentive and instantly made us feel welcome. The décor was charming and the food was unbelievably delicious!! You should definitely try the salmon falafels, they are out of this world!

Everything we ordered was delicious and the portion sizes were very generous indeed! We cannot wait to visit again.

“Unique experience with deliciously different food.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 14, 2013

After my first visit (March 2013) I was left wanting to try more dishes on the menu so I booked my birthday meal here and invited family and friends. The restaurant doesn't normally open on a Monday, but they were very accommodating when I booked. The ages of my guests ranged from 14 months to 80+ and everyone enjoyed their food very much and said they wanted to go back to try something else (or even the same again). No-one had anything negative to say about the food - the meat was lovely and tender, the dishes are wonderfully flavoured and portions are generous. There were specials on the board as well as the printed menu so a lot to choose from. There are also vegetarian and vegan options. The fresh juices are also delicious.
The service was excellent from the moment we walked in, without being overpowering - offering to box up leftovers and generally looking after us really well.
The decor, lighting, tented ceiling and table settings are all perfectly co-ordinated on the Saharan theme. Next time my husband and I want to go back in the evening to experience the atmosphere. Even the toilets continue the decoration theme (and they are spotless). The only suggestion I would have there is the addition of a baby changing station.
All in all, if you are looking for a truly different experience, with authentic flavours and genuine hospitality - you need to visit Tassili. You will certainly not be disappointed and you'll probably end up going back again and again (like we plan to).

“Nice atmosphere but disappointing food”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed April 13, 2013

Was looking forward to trying out this North African (Algerian) restaurant. The venue is intimate and the service was quite good. Unfortunately the food was umimpressive - the lamb tagine special (with apricots and prunes) had decent flavour but the meat served was of poor quality and very fatty, and my friends were not particularly impressed by their chicken tagines either. The prices weren't cheap either.
The mint tea was good, but ultimately the food was of too poor a quality to entice us to return. Quite a shame as I like the fact that it is completely halal.
