“Yummy Grub Gastro-Pub”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 2, 2012

Shared an adhoc brunch/lunch with extended family and served promptly by smiley attendant staff. Soup was good value and tasty- a Pea No. with tasty toasted bread at 3 quid. Scone Cream Tea were tasty too by all accounts. Tea was leaf tea - which you can't beat but it is amazing how many places fail to use it prefering poor qual sweepings!!

“Lovely atmosphere, good food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 28, 2012

Met extended family here for a get-together lunch. Spacious and quiet, even though it's in the centre of Sheffield and had plenty of customers. We sat for quite some time chatting but didn't feel at all rushed and enjoyed our food. The only slight downside was that it was on the expensive side and portion sizes were variable, but it feels like a step up from its rivals in the city centre and we'd certainly come back.

“Nice atmosphere with good food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 23, 2012

Took some family out for a meal to Browns. We had made a reservation & informed the staff when we arrived. We ordered a drink while we waited to be taken to our table. 40mins later we were still waiting. I informed the staff that we had been waiting despite our reservation & they apologised for forgetting us (it was a Tuesday and not busy).
The food was good as it always has been there, the ony downside was one of our group was a vegetarian & several of the vegetarian starters were unavailable, which I was slightly disappointed at.
Apart from those few small negatives the food was lovely, priced appropriately & the ambiance of the restaurant is more upmarket than most of the other surrounding restaurants.
I would definitely go back and would recommend it to others.

“A nice place to eat”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 23, 2012

Situated close to the town centre but far enough away from the main part this restaurant had a welcoming atmosphere. The food was good in variety and quality. The wine good value for money.
Try the Brown's Eton Mess. Lovely!

“Not the best atmosphere for evenings”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 26, 2012

Visited with my friend and we both agreed that Nottingham's Browns offers a much better atmosphere.
However, food and service good.
