We went to The Butterfly House expecting to just pass the morning. It's not a huge site and we thought half a day would cover it and then we would go on somewhere after lunch.
How wrong we were!
There was so much to see and do that we spent the whole there, from when they first opened until almost closing time.
It may not be a huge place but they have a lot there, and the place is extremely clean, safe and well maintained. As well as all the animals and birds there is a large playing area for children, with a seperate area for under 4's.
The staff lay on talks and events during the day, and you get a timetable and map when you first arrive. We managed to time our day so that we didn't miss anything and we weren't disappointed.
There were animal talks, displays from the parrots and birds of prey, a meet and hold session with the smaller animals plus much more. They even had cockroach racing!
There is a very nice cafe on site, serving hot and cold food at very reasonable prices.
All in all we had a thouroughly enjoyable day at a little gem of a place.
