“Another Excellent Stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 4, 2013

This is the second time we have stayed at this Premier Inn . Once again we have had excellent service ,I would say the staff are so wonderful .Mick on breakfast duty along with Elaine cannot do enough for you ,she even remembered us from a few months ago. Mick is a lovely quiet fella who put on a great breakfast .On reception was the most charming young girl always had a smile when we wanted anything.(unfortunately I lost the slip of paper I had written her name on I am sure it started with the letter O ) .I have stayed at hotels much more expensive but it is exceptional to find all of the staff as charming and helpful as the staff here. The rooms are spotless as is the toilet/shower . We had a meal in our room which was very good.
The only down side is the rooms are too warm /hot making it difficult to have a decent sleep.
I think you should be Proud of your Exceptional Staff.

Room was very warm. 27 degrees it said on the wall control on a day that wasn't particularly warm. I was in a group of 3 and none of us slept well because of the temperature of the rooms. Why don't they leave the windows open during the day!?

We travelled as a couple for an overnight stop as we were visiting Rotherham Civic Theatre.
We had specifically booked this premier inn as it has a bar and small restaurant. As we had to travel from Wales, we needed to eat on arrival at 5pm as the theatre visit was for 6.45pm. I had telephoned ahead to make sure we could eaten at 5-5.30ish which was confirmed

Matt on the reception was very friendly and informative. Our room on the 2nd floor was roomy and had been refurbished. Anyone who has stayed in Premier Inns knows that a fan is a must between May and September as most P/Inns have no air con. The fan was a large floor standing one and we put it on straight away as rooms tend to get stuffy.

We changed and went down for dinner at 5.30pm. We were then told the restaurant had changed its opening time to 6pm which was a major annoyance as we specifically booked here to avoid having to find a nearby eaterie. However Graham the restaurant manager sensed my annoyance and went out of his way to help matters. He asked whether he could take our order and put it ready for the chef to be the first meal made on arrival at 6pm. We agreed to this and the chef excelled himself on the steak and trimmings, and Graham ensured our glasses were refilled and our bill brought promptly. He gave us excellent customer service in the circumstances and should be congratulated. He also gave us bar opening times for after the theatre visit.

A good nights sleep was had with a choice of pillows and extra pillows and we went for breakfast at a very reasonable 10pm on the Saturday morning which we found most convenient. Jackie the restaurant waitress was exceptionally busy but made sure we had a table and asked whether we had everything we needed. After a cooked and leisurely breakfast she asked us if we required any muffins or extra coffee before we went, which was a nice touch of customer service and appreciated greatly. After a fond farewell from Matt on reception we travelled home.

This Premier Inn in Sheffield will be revisited for sure, as the staff made our stay with their exceptional customer service and attention to detail.

The rooms were very clean and spacious. The bed was cosy and there were a lot of pillows provided which were very soft. The overall service provided was really good and the staff were very polite and professional.

Great staff here, breakfast one of best at premier inns and we've stayed in quite a few! Near the don valley stadium, this is a bit out of the way for the city but convenient to trams.....9 min walk. Not a lot of amenities very nearby but the bus will take you into the centre. There is a Pizza Hut, table table pub restaurant, McDonald's all in less Han 2 mins! We wanted to be near don valley and its great for this. Meadow hall about 6 mins by car but too long to walk. Staff great especially at breakfast, vending machines in hotel and cash machine so all catered for. Great for families also.

Room Tip: We had disability room and was v spacious

Stayed for 2 nights with husband, daughter and son-in-law as in Sheffield for the British Transplant Games. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. Breakfasts were excellent with a good varied choice. Cannot comment on the dinner as we ate out in the evenings. The rooms and bathrooms were very clean but the heat in the rooms was unbelievably intense. Even the corridors were stifling. I have never experienced heat like this in a hotel before. On the morning of our departure I asked if there was a form to complete and when questioned as to the reason for this I explained that we'd had virtually no sleep at all because of the heat. We couldn't use the fan during the night because of the noise. The receptionist was totally understanding and had absolutely no hesitation in saying we were entitled to a refund of the cost of the rooms as per the Premier Inn's guarantee. I understand that the Arena Premier Inn is the only Premier Inn in Sheffield not to have air conditioning. We were very pleased with the situation of the hotel which is close to the EIS and not far from the Hollywood Bowl and would certainly stay in another Premier Inn.

Very friendly, funny and helpful staff who where let down by the kitchen. Quality of the food was suspect and a bit hit and miss.
However there are plenty of good restaurants within walking distance adjacent to the Motorpoint arena.
