“Great food in modern, light setting”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 1, 2012 via mobile

Good range of traditional and contemporary dishes. Food was really tasty, ingredients fresh and "hot" did really live up to the promise. Nice light environment with modern decor. Great service.

“Great for after the pub”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 3, 2012

Conveniently sited opposite The Rising Sun in Nether Green, so just right for calling into after a trip to the pub. The Rising Sun will happily let you take glasses across; sadly they've lost all their 4-pint jugs, so that option is no longer available.

Modern decor with 'Contemporary' section of the menu - very Fulwood! Opted for the Special Tandoori Mass (fish), which was fine, if a little bland; I've had better. We had a selection of meals and everyone else was happy with theirs. Popadums and pickles but no other starters - instead we went for a selection of sides with our main meal -these were also good.

Verdict: Standard and reliable suburban Indian restaurant, but nothing out of the ordinary. £16/head, which without drinks did seem a bit pricey.
Bizarrely, it's billed as "Contemporary Indian Cuisine & Pizzeria".No evidence of pizzas inside - I suspect that's just a takeway thing.

“Just not as good as the Ranmoor Tandoori”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 31, 2012

The Panahar is owned by the same people as the Ranmoor Tandoori but it has a few differences on the menu - a few additional Indian dishes and pizzas. On the whole the Ranmoor Tandoori is better - the food is better and the service is certainly much better in the Rany Tany. I've never tried the pizzas, but why would you go to an Indian restaurant for pizza?

I visited PANAHAR with family for a meal on 5th January2012, I found the restaurant had great atmosphere, good food and excellent service. The restaurant has a very modern look inside and we found it very comfortable.
I would recommend for people to go visit and see for themselves.

“Excellent food at a very good price”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 23, 2011

It is an indian restaurant which also has a large selection of pizzas on the menu. The food is delicious and the service is excellent. They will cook any dish to your taste and palate. They will also adjust any menu to add or take out any ingredients that you dont like. They are not licensed to sell alcohol so only supply soft drinks - however this is not a problem as there is a tesco across the road that sells a selection of wines, cider and beers. Alternatively you could call into the Rising Sun pub which is situated across the road which sell real ales - large selection of and they usually have guest beers as well. They dont mind you taking your drinks across to the restaurant or they can sell you larger quanties of your favourite beer in 4 pint containers to save you having to go for refills. they will collect glasses from the restaurant for you. They also do take away. Well worth a try if you have not already discovered this gem of a restaurant
