I don't know if its the recession but Ask Pizza have in my opinion gone downhill.
The food is acceptable - but the portions are really, really small now, while the prices have gone up. Which sort of kills the point of going to a restaurant to eat if you are hungry when you leave.
Personally, sharing a garlic bread starter, sharing a pizza and then having a pasta dish, should leave one feeling very full, but it did almost nothing for me. (In previous years I could have only eaten only 2 out of 3 of the above - and I am not a fat guy!)
The decor is meant to be new and creative, albeit comes across as mix of rather pretentious and tacky. The chain seems to wants to emulate Pizza Express and although it has got the very small portions and high prices right, the decor falls behind.
Sad to say, this is not the Ask Pizza I used to know, love and frequent, and suffice it to say, I will not be going back to them again.
