“Hidden Fun”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 8, 2012

Upon checking out tripadvisor I decided to pop into the Museum with my boyfriend one random day in town. So glad I did! Had such a fun time checking out all the really cool old artifacts and seeing the huge wall scroll! I think my favorite must see bit was the old biscuit section. So many amazing tins and old preserved biscuits, I had so many pictures taken. I suggest checking it out and giving yourself at least an hour or so to go around it. Worth it and it's free!

“Good for a fun or rainy day out!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 23, 2012

Lots to see and listen to and some of the exhibits are a little...strange...but it makes for a fun and slightly eccentric atmosphere.

“Surprisingly Good”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 2, 2012

The full-and-complete copy of the Bayeaux Tapestry, the original of which most of us will never see, is just one of the surprises at this lovely museum. This alone was worth the trip, especially as it was so wonderfully explained by a resident docent. Well worth the donation we gave. Will definitely go again.

“Great Place, Great Exhibits, Great For Children”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 19, 2012

Small but perfectly formed.

Some interesting and fun exhibits, a fabulous biscuit tin gallery (H&P were based in Reading), superb Victorian art gallery and loads more.

Friendly and informative staff, very well presented exhibits and a cafe too.

It's small, so with children you'll spend no more than maybe an hour to 90 minutes there but during that time there is so much to see it really holds their attention.
