We are not keen on the Toby Carvery type of restaurant or its food, especially having had a poor meal at this one last year.
However, at the end of a long day, it was the most convenient for the adjacent Premier Inn hotel so in we went...
It turned out to be quite acceptable, reasonably quiet given that it is for families, with friendly and efficient staff. The nut roast and the turkey carvery were very good value (there was even vegetarian gravy) as was the beer - generally nothing special but certainly better than on our last visit. This was on a Friday night - we called in the following night (to use the free wi-fi and have a drink) and it was busier and noisier: very much a family scene.
Still not somewhere we would normally chose but, given what it sets out to be, worth 3 to 4 stars.
