“Back to better!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 25, 2013

We went back to the Elm Tree last week for my wife's birthday, what a massive transformation, good food, good atmosphere and Jim the landlord couldn't do enough for us. Fantastic. This was one of our favourite places to go until an awful experience in April with the previous owners.

I am really pleased that The Elm Tree is back at the level that it was always at. Definitely worth a visit.

“Great to see the Elm Tree back in good hands”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 21, 2013

After a spate of bad ownership it is good to see The Elm Tree is back in good hands. This pub is local to me and unfortunately there isn't many decent eating pubs that aren't chain owned around anymore....luckily this one has been taken over by someone who seems to know what they are doing.

Four of us sat down for a 2 course dinner on a Tuesday night and the pub was buzzing with chatter which was always a good start. The menu is what I would call unusual but the food was definitely up to scratch... for me it was potted chicken liver parfait to start then the unusual part, spicy beef strips with fusulli pasta...it was great a lovely mix of flavours.

Go try it out!

“Lovely Lunch”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 24, 2013

Lovely pub. I am on a very restricted diet and the chef was very accommodating, even offering to let me choose from the starters on the evening menu. Really friendly and professional service. Reasonable price too. Would recommend.

“Absolutely fantastic!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 20, 2013

To celebrate my birthday, 8 of us had a meal at the Elm Tree last night and it was the best we have ever experienced. All plates were cleared, the food was totally delicious and great value for money, the staff are efficient, accommodating and friendly, nothing is too much trouble. There was a lovely, relaxed atmosphere in the dining area with the candles glowing and the roaring fire. Thank you so much Jim for a fantastic evening. If you haven't yet visited the Elm Tree you are missing out!

“Great lunch”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 8, 2013

Nice to see the Elm Tree back in good hands. We had avoided the place for a long while as the last custodians were terrible. Nice to see Jim has the place back to its best. We had a lovely lunch with good real ale and a simple classic of the thin sirloin with fries (thanks to Kim). The menu is very reasonably priced for the quality of the food and the view over the Berkshire countryside is an enviable one.
I would strongly advise you to go whilst the weather is clement so you can enjoy your food/drink in the sun looking out across Berkshire countryside.
