5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 19, 2012

We stayed at novotel Reading for two nights. It was lovely.Extremely polite and freandly staff nothing was to much or to trouble for them.Reception and bar staff ware excellent.the only one thing i could point out was the food on breakfast i think the ham and saloon was bit dry and look old.except that everything was perfect.will come back in future for sure.many thanks to great staff they make our stay so enjoyable.thank you novotel Reading centre.:-)

I got a deal to stay in a family room at this hotel in December. We usually stay in either a Travel Lodge, Premier or Ibis Hotel because of their reasonable prices. However, staying at the Novotel was worth that little bit extra cost because the facilities, the room, the cleanliness, the ambience, the staff and location were excellent. 5 minutes from the train station and 10 minutes to the Oracle shopping centre. If I could get this hotel at the same rate again £61 for family room I'd definitely stay again.

We were greeted by a very friendly efficent receptionist who checked us in smoothly. Room was an executive room with good facilities and various extras such as robe and slippers., bose music point. The room was clean and decor good. The bed was very comfortable and the shower had a really good pressure and was hot.
We were only here for one night as Christmas Shopping so this is ideally placed for the Oracle.
We did not have Breakfast here as though excessive and have paid less in higher establishments. We did have a cocktail in the bar before going out that evening and were surprised to see the restaurant empty .
We thought if the restaurant was to the front of the building people may be inclined to sit and watch the world go by . Would definatly stay here again.

I have stayed at the Novotel Reading Centre numerous times over the past year on business travel. The hotel is located very near the town centre with convenient access to restaurants, pubs, shopping and the train station, all within an easy walk. Reading is a fun town with lots of good restaurants and nightlife.

The reason for the lowered rating has to do with the check-out experience. In virtually every case, there are extra charges on the bill for breakfast and minibar items that were never used. This is also true for most of my work associates who stay there as well. It has gotten to the point to where I tell my associates to always check their bill upon checkout. I have provided this feedback to both the hotel management and my travel agent, however the situation has not improved.

Delightful staff, very comfortable room, buzzy bar, late checkout on Sunday, easy parking, absolutely central, super breakfast buffet, sauna, steam room and pool. What more could you want? A late supper in the bar was very good and reasonable.

Room Tip: A room away from the traffic if you want complete quiet, although soundproofing is pretty good.
