Description: This pub was one of the first Wetherspoon establishments to open outside of London and has recently celebrated being open for 20 years in May 2014. We have a garden area at the front of the pub to make the most of the British weather and we are open everyday from 7am for breakfast and coffee. We have been awarded the maximum five stars in the Food Hygiene Rating scheme and welcome all to try our massive range of food available from burgers & hot dogs to salads & pastas as well as our club days and much more. We take great pride in our selection of beers and ales. We are Cask Marque accredited and there are many guest ales to choose from as well as our house ales. We are also happy to introduce our new craft beer, Devil's Backbone IPA, from America along with Hogstar lager, Republika Pilsner and Benediktiner Weissbier.

“Great breakfast”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 24, 2013

Just popped in for breakfast on Sunday morning. We had the standard English breakfast, with a mug of tea and a filter coffee. Nice quality ingredients, well cooked and presented, and very good value. Served with a smile by the helpful staff. Really enjoyed it. Yum yum!

“Dreadful Pub”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed June 8, 2013

I couldn't agree more with the previous reviewer's assessment of this pub.

While the location isn't that bad the amount of drunk people sat outside the front of this establishment before lunch time gives an indication of how bad it truly is. The Crown Court is a few minutes away but it is also next door to the County Court so that probably tells you all you need to know.

This place embodies the exact reason why I hate Wetherspoon pubs so much (the one in Windsor excluded). Cheap food and cheap drink generally equal a not so nice crowd!

“Warm lager, awful atmosphere”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed April 21, 2013

Dreadful pub. Bottled beer from fridges is consistently at room temperature, carpets feel sticky and the clientel give away that this is the closest Weatherspoons to the Crown Court.

The atmosphere in the evenings is a little better especially at weekends

Food is consistent Weatherspoons standard which you can take any way you like!

“Good cheap food and drinks with prompt service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 4, 2013

Wife and I dropped in after visiting the other side of town centre. New menu prices had risen, but gourmet hot dog was HUGE, and I could not eat all the chips! Wife had the "new larger" fish & chips, which she felt had more batter than necessary - adding calories. Unusually I was not offered ice in my soft drink - still, it was good value and much enjoyed. Will return soon.

“Rude management”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed April 4, 2013

The male manager here is outrageous! I'm not sure where he thinks he can get off swearing at people and picking and choosing who gets served depending on who he likes the look off.
The food is standard whetherspoons- ok quality for the cheap price and it did come out quickly which was a bonus. The drinks are hard to mess up and were fine. Just the staff and management that need to sort themselves out as there are some much nicer whetherspoon pubs around
