The only reason my family & I stay in this Travelodge is purely because of its location as we are Cornwall-based supporters of Reading Football Club. In the 10 years we have been using this "Hotel" (and I use the term loosely) the place has fallen into a complete state of disrepair and is in desperate need of updating and re-decoration. We stayed again on Saturday 2nd February 2013. Booked a family room and stated in our booking that 2 adults & 1 child were staying. When we got into the room there was 1 small hand towel in the bathroom, no bedding whatsoever for my son who was sleeping on the sofa bed, and 2 cups. I had to keep going backwards & forwards in order to fetch things that should have been placed in the room for us as part of standard procedure. The pillows are as flat as pancakes and they could do with buying some new ones. They say they can provide you with more but on the occasions we have asked we've been told they've run out so we just always take our own.The mould around the window frames is disgusting & the paintwork needs re-doing. The toilet in our room was badly stained & looked awful. The tiles in the bathroom are all stained and basically the whole room badly needed a re-vamp. The guests in the room above us decided to make a racket until around 4am (shouting in the corridor, banging on doors, tv on full blast, stomping around in the room so hard we thought they were going to come through the ceiling) and you would have thought that the staff member on night duty would have gone and asked them to consider other people who were staying there. We hardly got any sleep and my husband had to do a 12-hour night shift after the 4-hour drive back home. The sooner Premier Inn or the like build something in this area the better..
Don't stay here!
