“Husband says best steak he has tasted”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 17, 2013

Really lovely relaxed place - have a long lunch on a Saturday, friendly staff and excellent steak. Should mess less with the crab and give you more crab less fussy bits. But have to say loved the place. Husband still raving re the steak

“A nice feeling”

I'm pleased to see this place is still open. It has nice food and a good selection also. It would be good to see it busier as it deserves to be.

“Gorgeous chargrilled steak”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 15, 2013

Only had steak and chips with a glass of red wine. The steak was chargrilled, juicy and cooked perfect (rare) beautiful flavour. The chips were also lovely. The salad leaves were a little limp and the glass of house red was not bold enough to compliment the steak. £24.

“Superb Service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 15, 2013

Visited Cote Brasserie for Dinner on Saturday the 9th March 2013 with friends and family. On arrival we were seated upstairs in a booth, which was ideal to accomodate the five of us, and the menu's explained. Our waiter immediately took our drinks order and delivered these whilst we selected our meals.

Having ordered a selection of olives and garlic bread to keep us occupied we choose a variety of starters, soup, prawns and mussells all of which were well presented and delicious. For our main courses we order the lamb, fillet steak and beef borguignon. The lamb and steak were very good, however, the beef borguignon was, for my taste, extremely peppery, and I pointed this out to the staff when asked about my meal. I must say that the response could not have been better, I was immediately offered a replacement meal. Having chosen the fillet steak, mainly due to the fact that my wife's was excellent, there was a delay in the kitchen and my steak arrived after my companions had finished their meals. The waitress immediately informed us that, due to the delay, that my main course would be gratis. A nice gesture.

Would also recommend the Cote de Rhone and the desserts which were enjoyed by all.

In summary, good food, varied menu and attentive but not overbearing staff. I would certainly eat here again when next in Reading

“Free parking a bonus”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 23, 2013

We visited Cote at Reading again for breakfast. 4 of us had a very pleasant breakfast, juice, coffee, full english, toast and marmalade for just £55 and as an added bonus our car parking at the Oracle was validated for up to three hours. As we had only a few things to buy this was a welcome bonus for us, on top of the usual well cooked food.
