“Promising menu, shame about the food quality, steer clear.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed May 23, 2014

Went for a drink here recently and thought the menu looked good and it was busy with diners, so we returned for something to eat. Unfortunately the promise of the menu did not live up to what was actually presented on the plate. I had the veggie burger and my OH had the beef / pulled pork burger. You would think with such a simple meal there was not much to get wrong, but the burgers were poorly presented in buns with a pathetic excuse for salad inside. Burger sauce obviously from a cheap catering bottle and the chips were awful. No side salad to accompany unless you paid extra. Our tip; steer well clear until the cook (not a chef) can be bothered to present a burger better than they do in Burger King or McDonalds...! Glad we didn't order a more complicated meal, goodness knows what would have been served up. AVOID.

“Below average food, good service”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed May 8, 2014 via mobile

Such a shame as the location is lovely, the service staff are great , very friendly and attentive however the food was terrible. Me and my partner could not finish our meal, and it left a bad after taste for the rest of the evening. I would go back only for a drink unfortunately , unless something drastic is done about the food taste and quality.

“A Wonderful trip to the Fox”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 4, 2014

Yet again, I was truly delighted with my trip to the Fox Inn, on Boars Hill. We are based locally so often wander over if feeling lazy. Not only does it have a lovely appealing exterior, but the inside has such charm. Although the building itself is lovely, it is the staff that make the experience so worthwhile. As a family, we enjoy treating ourselves to a meal out occasionally, and even though the food isn't of "Le Manoir"'s standard, it is what you expect to find in a typical British Pub and never disappoints.
We highly recommend the Fox Inn! Not a bad word to be said.

“Sunday afternoon pints”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 27, 2014 via mobile

Had a few pints in this pub as was out walking the dog with friends .

Not a bad place . Although not many real ales on offer compared to other local village pubs have been in .

Tables looked like they needed replacing inside as looked worn out .

Had a few pints on the outside decking with nice views over the Oxford countryside .

Staff fairly polite .

Didn't have anything to eat so can't comment on that .

Would recommend if your passing this pub

“AVOID AT ALL COSTS”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed April 23, 2014 via mobile

Had the worst service and food experience ever!

Complained to chef and brewer and was fobbed off with loads of justification of why my experience was so bad.
