Well this visit started well from the start....nice looking hotel with pretty grounds and location....helpfully, smart and attentive staff, fantastic looking bedroom with quality fixtures and fitting. Nice to see a large complementary bottled water, lots of coffee/tea and quality toilet rolls and not the cheap rubbish. All in all this was a great stay but I have two personal gripes with our stay here. Number one was the menu.....With the look of the restaurant; which hats off to who ever designed it looked great, I loved the pizza oven cooking area, we thought we'd be in for a real treat, but I personally thought the restaurant menu was unimaginative.......with the location of the hotel, I know and have visited lots of fantastic restaurants within a quick drive...........the actual quality and taste of the food was good, just needs stepping up a notch or two. Number two gripe is attention to detail.....just simple things for example....broken mirror behind the bar, raw plugs in wall which haven't been removed, filled and painted, hanging wires from tv, burnt toast on sausage sandwich, incorrect food order. I understand things break, but maybe a little sign by the fault informing customers the problem it being dealt with, not just shelved. I know these are trivial, but being a high end hotel you should strive to eliminate gripes like these and be the best you can. I'd like to establish that these aren't complaints just an opinion of mine, observation and what I look for in a great hotel.
