“A wonderful walk”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 12, 2012

Better if you can take time, take a picnic and soak up all they have to offer. It is amazing to sit under old, old trees and think of who else has walked here.

“Fascinating Lecture”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 12, 2012

Through Art Fund we recently attended a tour of this garden which was made extremely interesting by the fascinating talk given by Tim Walker who, I believe, is classified as Director of the Garden. He vividly and wittily explained the origin, dna aspects and medicinal purposes of the plants as well as providing many parenthetic asides concerning his family, students and commercial matters linked to Oxford. He should have his own TV programme - and not just restricted to matters botanical! We liked the garden too!

“Lovely grounds”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 11, 2012

This makes a nice break from the hustle and bustle of the City, just a short walk down either St. Aldates or the other entry near Magdalen Bridge, you have to pay to visit the Botanical hot house and part of the grounds, but there are free areas you can walk around.

“A beautiful way to spend an hour”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 29, 2012

It's not huge but I love the old greenhouses and some of the more unusual plants. It's right on the river so you could always combine it with a punting trip, although the Cherwell boathouse is definitely the best place to go punting from.
