“Great PYO, lovely cafe”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 20, 2013

This is a great pick your own, which a wide variety of fruits and vegetables on offer seasonally. The café (outside, so not for a cold or rainy day), has lovely food made with fresh local produce. There is also a playground for children, with a free bouncy castle and sand pit. The only down side of this is it is quite busy and noisy when eating lunch.
The farm shop has a nice range of locally sourced produce and home-grown fruit and vegetables. Overall, a great place to spend a few hours.

“Great place to take children for a cheap day out”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 2, 2013

We regularly take our 3-year old son here, as it provides a number of free facilities that he loves (most notably a bouncy castle and a large inflatable slide - and they even had free tractor rides (in a trailer) last time we went on the weekend). I agree with the earlier review that it can get very busy on the weekends, especially later on in the day, so it's worth getting there early before it gets too manic (as some kids do get a bit out of control on the bouncy castle, etc, as it is not supervised). The pick your own area is massive, so that is another fun activity and there is a smallish cafe.

“Lovely example of a PYO”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

Went here with my daughter and granddaughter who is 2 and half for her first PYO experience as she loves strawberries, and as a kid I loved doing this! This was a beautiful PYO farm, beautiful produce. She enjoyed the whole strawberry picking experience. The outside café was lovely, cakes and drinks reasonable, however, perhaps would be good to just be able to get a 'normal' sandwich, like ham or chesses or egg ... the sandwich selection was very little and they were 'posh' sandwiches. Cakes to die for though :-) My only complaint and this ISNT anything to do with the farm .... PLEASE AS PARENTS can you take responsibility for your children when out for the day instead of letting them run wild while you chat with your friends at a table taking no notice. If you want to do this, go to your own garden or a massive park where your children cant harm another child. My granddaughter was knocked over, kicked and pushed about by older kids abusing the bouncy castle! I was livid. Who's child belongs to who? Are you not watching your child bullying another on a free, supplied for out of kindness farm for EVERYBODY to enjoy? I would never let mine do that and my grandchild not either! This beautiful farm is in danger of being ruined by IRRESPONSIBLE parenting, which is sad as after all, this is a PYO farm, not a playground.

“Really lovely day out”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 13, 2013

I had a really lovely afternoon here, the pick your own fruit experience is yummy and i found good value. They had a great farm shop and a cafe with a delicious selection of cakes. I went in the week and while there were many children in the cafe area the actual fruit fields were ok, i can imagine its quite busy at the weekend.

“Good, old fashioned PYO in danger of being spoilt”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 3, 2013

This is my favourite PYO. There is a wide range of good quality fruit, it has a good shop and cafe and there is a general happy ethos about the place.

Unfortunately, it has become increasingly clear in recent years that Eastern European and Asian families have cottoned on to this place as the source of a free picnic. So blatant is the abuse that you may even see them set up camp, complete with plates and mugs. Unfortunately, very little fruit, if any, is paid for.

Since this must mean that honest people like me are paying to subsidise these thefts, the pleasure of the experience is fast diminishing which is why I have given 3 stars to a venue that otherwise deserves 5.
