“adequate”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 22, 2013 via mobile

I stayed for 1 night mid week. The receptionist was extremely helpful during check in.
My room was 105 in the annex which was very warm and due to the busy road outside it was not an option to have the window open at night. The lamp was broken on the desk (and had a ticket on it to indicate this) otherwise the room was clean.
Luckily I had packed some ear plugs to muffle the slamming doors and heavy foot steps of other guests.
The staff at breakfast were dismissive and couldn't be bothered to explain the set up of breakfast and where everything was situated etc.
The beefeater restaurant where breakfast was served is a little dated, dark and needs a refit. I'm glad I went to Jamie's Italian for my evening meal!

Stayed on a Sunday night,on arrival found we were in "The Annex" having uploaded we had to pack and move the car. Given room on middle floor not good "Herd of nocturnal elephants upstairs" heating not working mouldy tiles in bathroom and clothes hook broken off rear of bathroom door. Lamp on desk had been tested and condemned but not changed!!!
Food in the pub was not brilliant either service poor and breakfast no better-went to make toast and table had been cleared and relaid on return!!

Room Tip: Try another hotel!!

After driving for over three hours arrived at the hotel. Received warmly by the staff and within two minutes we were in our room. The room was good size, clean bath and shower room, most important a very comfortable bed. Large car park was also very convenient and there was no extra charge for parking the car. In my opinion the best value for money hotel.

We had a good night's sleep. The noise of the fan didn't bother us at all, and we shut the window so that there wouldn't be noise from the motorway. We'll definitely come here again when we are next in Oxford. Much, much better than Travelodges.

Stayed for one night as only 10 miles (ish) from Blenheim. Does what is says on the tin (basic, value accommodation) and was fine for one night. Requested a twin as staying with a friend and was given a large room with a double and single. Plenty of room and clean. Stayed in main building. There is an annexe as well. A large fan in room kept the temperature at a reasonable level although the common areas lack 'air' and outside the front of reception smells like wet fox! Decent Beefeater restaurant attached.

The heating system doesn't work, so avoid this hotel if you don't like the heat, as it is ridiculously hot. Beware also that some windows are locked open which means no sleep as it's located on a busy A road.

We booked a family room and got quite a reasonable price as booked fairly early. It was very clean although a bit cramped with a double, single and a pull out bed, but fine for our overnight stay. We were a bit worried about it being on a business park but didn't get any noise from the road (maybe as it was a weekend?) although I was woken several times with overhead movement of other guests who seem to be coming and going at all hours! Forget the "great night sleep guarantee" claim... apparently I should've gone to reception to report it at the time! However, the main disappointment was the beefeater next door. It was filthy dirty, the staff were surly, not keen to replenish the breakfast items and the breakfast was very poor quality. They didn't even bother to remove the empty cartons of Tesco value orange that they filled the dispenser with! The hotel location was good to get to a range of restaurants and cafes along the Main Street which continued into the centre and all the tourist bits! I would book to stay again, but forget the breakfast: you could get something much nicer along the main road!
