Having had good experience of Days Inns so far I was confident of a good room especially having booked a superior room for the two of us. But instead all we got was a small double bed and a single. Excuse was that they are upgrading the facilities to a hotel.

The room also had a whiff of damp dogs about it!

The receptionist was very kind and the room was absolutely clean and immaculate. A decent sized double bed room in newly refurbished condition. Free wifi was working perfect. Breakfast was delivered to our room just on time that we required. Everything was well organised.

The hotel is ok but it is on a motorway services although it is convenient for Oxford and the surrounding area or as I used it as a stop off on my way to London to avoid ridiculously high prices as Wimbledon was on. I stayed in an executive room and for the price expected more. Yes there is tea and coffee (as if this is something special) and you do get a bottle of water and a couple of snack bars but the room is pretty ordinary.

The bed was comfortable but there was no ventilation in the room and with the window open it was fairly noisy even though I was at the back of the hotel. There is one chair and a small coffee table but the chair was pretty uncomfortable so you end up sitting on the bed. The work area is adequate but narrow. A nice touch was the trouser press and an iron and ironing board.

The bathroom was ok but was in need of a bit of refurbishment.

Overall though the room was clean and tidy and at least they have free wifi and a TV with free view not the limited offering some hotels give.

For a one night stopover it was ok but I wouldn't rush back.

There is no air conditioning in the rooms and the window only opens a small amount so it gets extremely hot in the rooms. Also there is a lot of building work going on that creates a smell of rotten eggs around the property. This has to be the worst days inn I have stayed at.

It's usually a well priced hotel but does fill up very quickly. Staff have improved over the past year from when I first arrived. I always get the ground floor as requested. The rooms do however don't have adequate ventilation and have a tendency to smell damp. Also although not the hotels fault the eating places at welcome break close much earlier than a lot of other places and have a fairly limited choice of foods. Not to mention incredibly pricey. With no other shops nearby. On mny most recent stay for the very first time I had the room cleaner/attendant knock on my door and offer me towels, coffee, biscuit refills for my 2 day stay. This was extraordinary. Usually they never bother if I stay more than one night. So well done to him.
