“Best Chinese ever been to”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 19, 2013

This was undoubtedly the best Chinese my family has ever been to. Food was incredible as was the atmosphere.

We gave them a budget and they brought out an array of incredible starters and mains.
Will definitely be revisiting when back in the area!

“Most authentic Chinese in Oxford”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 18, 2013

We live in London, and try to eat here whenever we come to Oxford. Always busy, often necessary to book, popular with students and with many East Asian residents and visitors. extensive clear menu, with many spicy or very spicy dishes carefully designated, and usually very generous portions. Favourites include salt and pepper squid, spicy tofu with pork and delicate subtle wonton soup. Service can be a little cool, because they are so busy, but is often charming and always helpful with suggestions. £38 for two, without alcohol. More fun with more than two people.

“Pedestrian”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 17, 2013 via mobile

Went here based on trip advisor reviews and was expecting something really different and special what we got was a normal Chinese restaurant nothing special for the price . Totally underwhelmed am not sure what the reviews / critics are comparing this against .

“over-priced, over-valued and over-rated place ever.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed June 16, 2013 via mobile

ah where can i start? after reading the much acclaimed review here, me and a couple of friends decided to give it a visit.

after walking into the place, one would notice the place is sophisticatedly decorated with some old shanghai posters and the general ambiance is nice until the food is served.

the dim sum dishes are to be avoided at all cost. they are terrible by any stanards. seemed to have been frozen for a long time and steamed quickly when ordered. not fresh at all.

the main dishes are very small portion. the salt and peppered squid probably only came with 10 small pieces of fried squid, that is so salty that with one piece of squid that you can down a whole bowl of rice, which eventually would do a 9.50 pound damage to your wallet. hey, at least you'd get full by downing all those rice.

drinks are in half pint glasses charged at full pint prices.

overall, id say the place is way overrated. the quality of food and service is below par. You get little value for money. the choice is yours if you want to testify

“Wow!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 15, 2013

We were a party of six, had reserved a table based on reviews and were totally blown away - food was fantastc, service helpful without being pushy, guided us to excellent choices. Wine choices also good. Will make this our chinese restaurant of choice even though its 60 miles away! Wholeheartedly recommend to anyone who likes chinese food. Even better was the bill - £180 for 6 including 2 good wines - great value - if only we lived in oxford. Add sojo to your must dos if you're in oxford.
