“Not the best”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 19, 2013

My family and friends joined the City Sightseeing open top bus in Oxford recently there were 10 of us and to be fair they had given us a good discount we=hen we booked the trip, the weather was really bad however we still sat on the top deck to gat the most from the trip around the city. Whilst I admit the weather didn't help i have to say the trip wasn't that good, I have been on many city sightseeing tours before and all have been excellent we struggled to find seats that the audio's worked on (thank goodness the bus was almost empty) as it was raining the seats were VERY wet I would have thought that someone could have attempted to wipe them down or provide some cloths for their customers to do it themselves, we all spent the hour after the trip walking round Oxford with wet bottoms!!

“Sorry not good on the day”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 16, 2013

Love the concept and it can work well. For me the whole tour was a shambles a mixture of official stops and unofficial stops en-route drivers engaging in unnecessary dialogue even stops to chat to other bus employees between stops. The whole tour was constantly being uninterrupted and the continuity lost. Information was very sketchy and limited. Would suggest the bus company take more time at interest points and give out more information rather than zooming around to get in the required quota of laps.

Great for a time limited visit though and you can stay on the bus all day if you wish.

“Great start to the day”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 11, 2013

When i did the bus tour around the city in december, it told me the history of the town and gown. Even though i am a resident of oxford it's surpising how much i didn't know about oxford city. It's a most enjoyable tour and well worth the money.

“City of no seats”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 4, 2012

Went to Oxford as part of a National Holidays break; at Oxford for 4 hours in total. Very busy and hectic in December on a Saturday; not my cup of tea.... too much weaving in and out. Not the city of spires for me, more the city of no seats....................... every pub / eating place we went in to there was not a seat to be had. And a distinct lack of charity shops !!!

“Very Boring”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 30, 2012

Bus takes you outside of some of the colleges. Very expensive. For a long time we were stuck in traffic. Most of the time the commentary was going of places which we have not reached yet. The bus was old and lots of stops to pick customers. We did not expected it to be so time consuming it looked easy but was not so enjoyable. It is very expensive and bus does not go on city centre sights. So we have go on another tour to see the important sights.

Thank you for you recent review, I'm sorry you were dissapointed by your visit. Our tour is specifically designed to take in all the major sights around the city, with 20 stops located for easy access to these. The stops are deliberately located in popular areas to allow passengers to Hop on Hop off all day, spending time to exlplore our city and university, therefore offering visitors flexibility and freedom to see as much as possible during their visit.
We have additional commentary available on our system to allow for traffic delays, which drivers will play if required, but if traffic is very heavy or the driver is busy selling tickets the odd gap might occur.
