What I liked?
1) it's cheap; 2) it's near city centre (10mins walking); 3) acceptable breakfast.

What I disliked?
1) very scarce cleaning in the room & bath. Try to see under beds or behind furniture: you'll not believe to your eyes for how many rubbish you can find.
2) en-suite bath with shower is so small that can lodge only a dwarf.
3) door can be opened with a shrug. Be care because it happened to find a drunk guy to try about it.
4) if upstairs guests walk in their room, your sky-lamp shakes very strongly.

So, the only solution to help future visitors (attracted by low fares) is to write to Tourist Board of Oxford County Council.

A worker!

First impression was "get out of here" due to a terrible smell of cat pee.

We asked the "receptionist" if it was ok to cancel booking and he said it was no trouble at all. We went to a really nice youth hostel in London instead (Globetrotter Inn). But when we got our credit card bill the Nanford house had charged us for our booking even though the "receptionist" said it was no trouble. Now they refer to 48 hour cancellation policy wich is fine. Only there was nothing about it in our booking confirmation or in spoken by the "receptionist". Not very service minded!

Rooms are small and dirty, bathrooms are simply unbeliveble. The owner, Mr Everest (we call him like that, because all around you can see photos of him when he was "on the top of the world"), stopped talking when he came back from Everest and now he can only grumble. Anyway, we spent there six nights (yes we have been so heroic!!) and we survived.
Expect the worst, take with you soap and bleach and you will have fun!

Do not stay here - it is no better than a doss house. We went to visit the university and booked a night. Reception consists of a room full of rubbish and overflowing ashtrays.
The rooms are crammed full of beds and old furniture.
We left and went home....

I don't think my review will add much to the previous ones, but I still feel like sharing my impressions. I read the reviews before going there, so I knew it won't be perfect, but I couldn't imagine it to be that bad. Unfortunately all other affordable accommodation was gone (or I just didn't know where to look).

As soon as you are in, you can't help thinking of Sweeny Todd: the landlord is behaving very strange and there's awful smell everywhere.

The rooms are never cleaned. Everything is filthy, covered in cobweb. Bedlinen is probably 17th century, with huge holes in it. Breakfast unedible. But what really got me is that cutlery in the dining room are not washed.

Every now and then you watch people storming out. Staff doesn't seem to be particularly bothered. They are surprisingly easy to book, this is only why they still have peope staying.

And for that level of service I wouldn't even say they are cheap. I'd rather stayed in a hostel
