The staff service, facilities and meals at this hotel are excellent, even though it's a smaller hotel. It's not as far out of the centre of Oxford as it first appears - taxi rides to central sites like the Ashmolean Museum take only several minutes - so if the central hotels fill up and you can't find a summer vacation venue, take a look at this one. Its only issue is that it's a hotel retrofitted into a former house, so there are short flights of stairs and corner corridors on some levels that may present accessibility issues for people with limited mobility or heavy luggage. There is a lift available but this doesn't mean you won't have at least a couple of stairs to climb here and there. Overall though the hotel is clean, attractive, well organised and lovely, and in a nice quiet location, so it's easy to get some sleep.
