Came with a friend for high tea. Had to wait a while to be seated, then to order, then to get a refill of hot water for my teapot, then to get the bill. Lots of waiting. The waiters were sort of chatting to each other instead of paying attention, even though there weren't that many people around.
The cream tea was okay - the scones were awesome. Had that crunchy edge, soft buttery inside, lovely plump raisins. Generous helping of clotted cream, just enough jam. The tea was a little disappointing - not a huge selection, and I basically got a tea bag of ginger and lemon.
I think I'd come again in the summer, just to see the view (in the winter its just dark) but would be prepared this time for so-so service. Not rude or anything like that, just very slow and inattentive. I would say the scones are better than the Grand Cafe or the Rose, but the tea was mediocre.
