This is a great little place for enjoying some tapas. I love the variation of food on offer - not just the usual Spanish tapas, but food from Vietnam and India too, so it suits a variety of tastes. I've been twice and it's been excellent both times. The only let down is the fact that you can't book if you're in a group of less than 7. I went there with 6 friends last time and as there were few tables free, they gave us a booked one and told us we could have it for an hour only. This was fine in itself, but the waitress was then quite stroppy when we wouldn't order immediately and after waiting a long time to get the bill, were quite frustrated when the booked party arrived and were told by the waitress that they were waiting for us to go! If the customer service matched the food, this place would be awesome.
This is a great little place, situated on Broad Street just down from the Screen Room cinema.
I often find with tapas restaurants that the portions are either too big - more of a starter size like in Iberico, or the food is just terrible, chain restaurant rubbish - like La Tasca. Bar de Nada has perfectly-sized, delicious plates, and the most fantastic array of World beers to accompany them.
They also offer a selection of World Tapas, as opposed to just Spanish, so you can sample other yummy dishes such as Spring Rolls, Jerk Chicken and Tom Yum Soup.
The food is absolutely delicious, and the chorizo pate draws me back every time! They also have a fantastic offer on weekdays, if you arrive between 5pm-7pm, the time you arrive is the price you pay! Eg. Get there at 5.35, pay £5.35! This includes 3 dishes from the selected menu and bread. Great price, but I would recommend eating off the normal menu to be able to try the full range of dishes.
The only "downfall" is the restaurant is not especially big, in fact, it's quite small. This means you can sometimes arrive and it's fully booked, or if you're feeling especially hungry the plates don't all fit on the table! However, it all adds to the cosy feel.
In summary, a great restaurant, with authentic, delicious and very fairly priced dishes, and the most amazing ale menu you will find this side of the city.
I just love this restaurant. I have been to Nottingham many times in the last year and have visited this restaurant quite a number of times with my partner. It is a vibrant place, staff nice food excellent. Sorroundings buzzing.
I love this place, it's small and cozy but bustles in the evening. They have lots of nice beers (try Erdinger and Erdinger Dunkel) and you can have a full on tapas dinner or just some nibbles with your drinks.
