“Coffee & Cake Catch Up venue.....but equally good for larger group for Sunday Lunch...... was perfect”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 11, 2013

I met up with a friend I haven't seen for years and we dropped in speculatively one lunchtime...we didn't want food and yet were sat at the front of the venue, made to feel really welcome and the cake (only one choice, good job we both liked the option) and coffee was excellent!...Really attentive, friendly staff...they are open all day for cake and coffee with not bad food hours either...lovely outdoor seating area with canopied areas if the weather is rainy but warm enough....had Sunday lunch here too once...sat outside in the sun with a large mixed group of us..equally good, efficient and super food......more Vegetarian choice would be good but still really lovely...not the cheapest but as the saying goes..... "Cheap Food isn't good and Good Food isn't cheap!"

“Maintaining its high standards!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 9, 2013

Had an impromptu dinner here on a sunny weekday evening when it was possible to sit outside. Had not been for a while and was pleased to see that food and service standards were being maintained. Best of the three restaurants in this small chain. The Boathouse needs to learn from Tom Browns.

“Excellent wedding reception”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 9, 2013

Attended a wedding reception here on Thursday 8 Aug. 2013. The meal and service were excellent and well received by everyone in the party who I talked to.

“Beautiful!!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 3, 2013

A night out with the in-laws. This is not the first and it won't be the last time I visit this restaurant. Tom Browns is worth every penny. The food, the service and the atmosphere was first class, although there vegetarian choice still needs to improve and to charge for bread I think needs addressing. The restaurant manager who I think is called Dan and his team made it a great night out. We will be back.

“Style over substance”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2013

We've been going here for a few years, it is a local restaurant to us and has been fantastic in the past....however, over the past year we have experienced issues with the food. There is an air of penny pinching - at these prices bread should be complimentary rather than charged for. Other restaurants at this level often offer complimentary appetisers as well as bread. We are also fed up of regularly having to send back a meal due food being overcooked or cold. On the plus side, the atmosphere is friendly and welcoming, the surroundings are relaxed and comfortable and the staff always professional and friendly. However, I can't see us going back there unless the food quality changes.
