“Great hotel on Edge of Nottungham”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 21, 2013

Great value hotel - we had some kind of deal which made the cost if the evening meal ridiculously cheap. Contemporary feel nice rooms, good restaurant and great service. Didn't visit the gym but were told by colleagues it was really good.

I stayed at this hotel over the weekend of June 12, for 3 nights. If you're driving to Nottingham, and looking for a nice hotel away from the noise of the city to retreat to at night, this hotel is prime. Everything about this hotel was excellent -- especially the customer service.

The "cold" breakfast was amazing. The spread was quite extensive and filling. Self-service buffet.

The staff were very friendly and helpful! I cannot emphasize enough how impressed I was.

I didn't try the pool/spa, though, so I can't speak for that aspect of the hotel.

The bar/cafe was great, as far as drinks go, but the food wasn't too spectacular.

The double-room I got was clean, warm, modern, spacious and inviting. Separate shower/bath. Electric kettle w/ tea and instant-coffee and biscuits. Trouser-press, if you need one. No AC in the rooms, but between the window, and an oscillating fan, I was perfectly fine. The beds were very comfortable.

I got wifi in the room, but it wasn't a very strong signal.

During my trip to Ireland/England, I stayed in 7 different hotels, and this was the best.

Getting to Nottingham city center is about a £10-15 cab ride (use Central Cabs -- other cab companies were unable to locate the hotel). Bus 77 will also take you into the city, if preferred. However, I would recommend driving or taking a cab if you're staying here. The public transportation can be a bit tricky in Nottingham.

I came to this Hotel mid June for my partners bday! I had pre-booked some bday treats for my partner via email and even spoke to an assistant on reception prior to our stay. When we arrived nothing had been organised or even acknowledged!!! Much to my disappointment we continued - room was lovely and evening meal was nice. We went for some after dinner drinks, and the service at the bar was abysmal!!! Rude nonchalant attitude and totally dismissive. I had to complain to the duty manager who i must say was absolutely BRILLIANT!!!!! He could not do enough to make the stay perfect for myself and partner!!! Big thanks to Mike, who made what could have been a disastrous weekend very much pleasurable!!! Defo worth the stay if you are exposed the enhanced treatment!

This hotel is well located on the outskirts of Nottingham and is easy to find being not too far from the motorway, but far enough to avoid too much noise. The hotel itself is well managed and the staff could not have been more helpful and friendly. We had booked 2 rooms on a budget deal with Expedia and were not expecting too much, but were very pleasantly surprised by the standard of the accommodation and the breakfast which was included in the price was excellent. If we have to stay in Nottingham again, we will definitely stay at this hotel

Whilst at an entrance to a Business Park, this should not detract from perceptions here as the setting is pleasant and accessible to Nottingham city centre. The hotel is light and airy in all public areas and the bedrooms are larger than the norm and fitted to a very good standard to include a separate shower and bath. Staff were all pleasant and helpful and both dinner and breakfast were more than acceptable. In summary, a modern low rise hotel enjoying a feeling of space throughout and providing for a very enjoyable weekend. Highly recommended.

Nothing stands out about the hotel but equally we couldn't really complain about anything important.
Easy to find and very handy for M1.
Helpful reception staff. Nice clean room and bathroom great shower good comfy beds all mod cons in the room.
Decent restaurant but as always a bit pricey. Chef seems to need to learn his sauces as the bearnais sauce was just not bearnais sauce. But it's pretty petty if that's all you can find that's wrong.
Good breakfast generally. Would stay there again.
Spa was ok. Quite small pool with noisy kids larking about. Blame the parent not the hotel though.
free broadband but no wifi in the rooms.
All staff were lovely especially the nice man who loaned my wife his sewing kit for a wardrobe emergency.

Just One night, over a week ago, and my partner and I are still suffering terribly with stiff necks!! The "Double" bed, was actually a zip and link and could not have been more uncomfortable and rock solid. The floor actually felt softer! I have never experienced such a terrible nights sleep in my life! Not to mention the stains down the sides of the loo and the grimey bath.
The food was awful with very little choice and what they claim was a Peppercorn Sauce was one of the most disgusting thing I have ever tasted! Burnt beef stock with hints of chared popcorn......YUCK! Steaks that you can't even cut through with a steak knife are not worth paying the overpriced bill for. The wine was good though and all of the staff were very friendly and helpful so the hotel's lackings must be from higher up as I do not believe any of them would choose to stay there if they had the choice.
